THE CENTER IS THE HOME FOR ORPHANS OF SOCIETY BUILT AND SUPPORTED BY OTHER ORPHANS. WE COME TO THE CENTER FOR EXPLORATION, FOR DISCUSSION, FOR SUPPORT, AND A SENSE OF WELL-BEING LEARNING THAT WE ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE STRUCK WITH THIS 'DISEASE' THAT SO MUCH OF SOCIETY REJECTS, CONDEMNS, AND VICIOUSLY ATTACKS. WE ARE ALL ONE AND IT IS THE CENTER THAT HELPS US TO UNDERSTAND THAT, DESPITE WHAT OTHERS SAY.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

THE HELP IT PROVIDES FOR OTHERS.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

TRY TO INTEGRATE MORE OF THE GROUPS THAT ARE DIVIDED BY SPECIAL INTERESTS AND AGES; FOR SOME SOCIAL EVENTS, NOT THEIR SPECIAL INTERESTS.

More feedback...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

THE SUPPORT IT PROVIDED ME WHEN I NEEDED IT MOST.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

CARING.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

HELP MORE PEOPLE.

Ways to make it better...

I GOT TO MEET MORE PEOPLE AS FRIENDS.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

GETTING THE WORD OUT OF ITS EXISTENCE AND SERVICES OFFERED. AND, OFFERING MORE SERVICES IN THE OTHER BOROUGHS. MANHATTAN IS NOT THE ONLY BOROUGH OF NYC THAT NEEDS SERVICES.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I AM PROUD TO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO HELP SUPPORT THE CENTER, WITHIN MY MEANS.

The Center is far more than merely a place for "Queer" people to meet and network. The Center is a place for questioning, curious, or newly out people to go to for support, answers, and safety. My first experience at the Center was 7 years ago at the youth program (Y.E.S.). My experience there was not only positive, but shaped how I identify myself within the community. At the time I was confused, and knew nothing about being "queer" or about the queer community. I owe a lot to the Center, particularly to the Y.E.S. program, and I hope many others can have a similar experience.

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center is a great resource for LGBT individuals and their allies. It benefits LGBT community in so many ways from its social events to its educational events to its youth program and health initiatives. It houses a variety of useful organizations and is in my opinion one of the best places to be in NYC for LGBT individuals.

What a wonderful organization for NYC's LGBT Community. I can't imagine what the community would do without their social services, meeting spaces and youth programming.

The LGBT center is not only a great place to meet with community members and participate in great activities, but it symbolizes the diversity and strength of the New York City LGBT community.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

bringing together the transgender community with health care providers that they otherwise may not have had the opportunity to meet and consult.

The Center is a home away from home for many members of the LGBTQ community... I've been to many support groups, public events, and casual meetings there and I've always felt comfortable and safe. The Center staff really does an amazing job of creating a welcoming, inclusive space. I feel really lucky to live near the Center so that I can go to events there all the time! And most of the events are free or cheap, too!!

The Center is an amazing place that offers a wide range of services, programs and wonderful activities and special events to the community. Its website looks really great these days, and there is a tremendous amount of info to be found there. I love their cultural programs, and this summer's art exhibits are really top-notch! I personally know several people who have been seriously helped through their counseling services, and their youth programs are the best for LGBTQ young people in the City. This is a great palce to go if you are just coming out, if you are new to the City or if you just want to find out what's happening for the LGBT crowd every day of the year.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

how their staff help people who are struggling with drugs and alcohol and for folks who are looking for fun and stimulating things to do.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

reorganize the departments and focus mor on culture.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

how much they really understand LGBT people, of all stripes, and how much they are dedicated to offering this community everything we need.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

incredibly kind, compassionate, dedicated, excellent at what they do, smart and refreshingly honest.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

build a new building with a cafe and a large performing arts space and lots more rooms for the community to organize, with child care and pet care.

Ways to make it better...

they had more stuff for lesbians.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

fundraising and keeping the LGBT population engaged.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I love the Center!
