The Jonah Project is an amazing organization that really invests everything that they have into the streets of skid row. They do their best bringing hope back into that hopeless place. And they are so persistent in loving these people, it blows my mind. I have served with them for a year and the things I have experienced are crazy. And they have been doing this for years now. The Jonah Project is really the oasis of Skid Row, and they are serving these homeless people and drug addicts with so much endurance and with really a 'supernatural' love. they amaze me. Respect.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I have seen a few people really change their way of life; that they got of the streets and off of drugs. This is a long and difficult process though. But many for the first time get to see a glimpse of hope through the jonah project.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

There is not much that I would change. I would try getting more long term staff and volunteers form the outside, so that not all of the responsibility would have to be on the shoulders of the leaders, Mary and Patrick Ersing.

More feedback...

What one change could this group make that would improve your volunteer experience?

They would need a bit more of organization, and leadership. Which is a clear result of not having enough long term staff and volunteers.

Did your volunteer experience have an effect on you? (teaching you a new skill, or introducing new friends, etc.)

Being at the jonah project I gained allot soft skills. it was an amazing experience. One of the staff mentored me through out the process and it really shaped me into who I am today. The Jonah Project made Skid Row one of my favorite places in Los Angeles.

How did this volunteer experience make you feel?

I gained allot of self confidence. It made me feel like I could really make a difference in some ones life. Even though the climate of skid row isn't the best I always loved being down there, even though I would smell like weed and piss when coming back, it was totally worth it.

It is amazing what they do, and with what love and compassion they serve the people on skid row. The Jonah project is really a light down in the dark allies of skid row. It really gives people hope again. It shows that they are loved, and not
forgotten.

I think it is amazing just to see a place, where the "unwanted" can come in so freely, and feel loved. I believe that this makes a difference in so many peoples lives. It gives the people hope...

I cant think of something i would change. i mean, yes... they are not perfect. but i believe that they do every thing as good as they possibly could. and not for their own benefit, but just because they love the people.

This non profit truly changed my life. I got a new perspective on how people in skid row live and if the Jonah Project is willing to be down their 24/7, that shows true commitment and character. God is doing his work through these people and making a difference. They are incredible!

The Jonas Project has changed mine and the whole youth ministry at Knott Avenue Christian Church's perspective of heart. We all now realize that God has really come down on the Jonah Project and provided love. We all can't wait to go back and sing Happy Birthday songs, Serve Food, and help clean up the community :]

Jonah Project touches many people on the streets of Los Angeles...they are reaching out to the people that many would count out but not due to this team. I have seen them in action and they are making such a great impact on their area. One day because of their efforts skid row will no longer be homeless, but fully residential. And it is because of people like this.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

first person...they truly care about these people and are changing lives.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

This team is fully functional and do not need to make changes...well the only change I would make is be able to fund them to see their dream come true

Our youth group Rise Up volunteered this past Saturday with the Jonah Project. It was an amazing experience in more ways than one. The Jonah Project has a great urban, artsy feel inside, and is a place of belonging for many. Many of our youth were witnessing skid row and the vastness of homelessness for the first time. The Jonah project daily makes a difference by cleaning trash from Skid Row, providing a warm meal, a new fresh change of clothing, and most importantly they share Christ's love with those in hard situations. It was eye opening and challenging to know that we were impacting people for one day, but the Jonah Project does this on a daily basis as their mission. The Jonah project is a home for those that don't have one, and they are family to many who don't have any. They are doing amazing sacrificial work among the streets of Skid Row.

The Great!

I think I personally seen the results of this organization by witnessing those within the Jonah Project that are regulars. They have a sense of belonging which shows that the ministry of the organization is producing fruit. Another huge result is just the people that have accepted Christ through the relational time and of sharing God's word.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I would advertise more to churches for help with clothing that is needed in various seasons and for volunteers to love those on the streets, and maybe choose a better menu for the people who were being served.

The Jonah Project was awesome! I loved serving there and I loved helping out Patrick and the gang. From handing out food, cleaning up trash on the streets, and just building relationships with the people on skid row, the Jonah Project is really making a positive difference in the LA community

They are doing something different! They have a worker sleeping on the street to know what the real needs are. This is something that is needed. Finding the need and fulfilling that need. They are also connected with the Dream Center, so the homeless have a place to go if they do not want to be homeless anymore.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I have seen a guy get off the streets into the Dream Center to start his rehabilitation.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Connect with more suburban churches.
