This organization gets a lot of favorable press because it is all PR and no substance. In 2007, the President, COO and CFO were paid $140,000, $135,000, and $109,000 (via a consulting contract) respectively. This top-heavy organization therefore paid $384,000 (before benefits) for its top 3 staff members when the organization's total revenues for the year were only $542,000. Can anyone beat that for overhead ratio? The result: a whopping $393,000 deficit -- and a lot of PR promises with little or no substance.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the red ink it reports on its 990 form.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

set realistic goals and report actual accomplishments instead of spouting a lot of hot air.

More feedback...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

nothing.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

frequently clueless.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

be very dangerous.

Ways to make it better...

there was some "there" there, but as it is, the organization is all hot air.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

that is has no "big idea."
