I created an Animal Kinship Ministry at my church with the help of the HSUS Faith Outreach Program information and literature available through their website. I find this information very helpful and informative, particularly the contemporary statements indicated from Spiritual leaders. I believe the program is another "avenue" to use to increase compassion for animals and educate the public.
I have also participated in the National Spay Day campaign and found the literature provided by HSUS very helpful to our local campaigns and getting the word out.
I recognize the power anti animal lobbyists have in Congress and state legislation and so I very glad the HSUS in turn has lobbyists who stand up for animals.
Please don't be fooled by the negative publicity about the HSUS perpetrated by the organization called "Center for Consumer Freedom" because this organization lobbies on behalf of the fast food, meat, alcohol and tobacco industries.
