I have been apart of this organization sense 1989 and I make it a point to be there every year because it means so much to me. At camp I have made friendships that I couldnt make anywhere else. I had brain surgery back in December of 08 and one of my camp buddies sat by me for two days while I was sleeping and only able to days in and out. The people you meet leave their prints on your heart wether they are age five or eighteen, everyone will have an impact.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Not having to worry about making ends meet for the kids to be able to come to camp so they can have one week of freedom. Having cancer makes kids feel limited, but we want to keep camp going to give kids with cancer a week of freedom and equality.

The Heart Connection has been a part of my life now for almost 20 years. When I was younger and sick the organization was there for me and my family and has continued to stay connected. Thanks to the Heart Connection I've now been provided with adult cancer survivor opportunities that have helped me educate myself on staying healthy long after going into remission.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

how they work with families during and long after a child goes through cancer.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

continue the work that has come before me and work to improve it as they have.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the many individuals I've come to consider as family.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

kind, helpful and focused on the cause.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

continue spreading its message and provide so much happiness to the innocent victims of cancer.

Ways to make it better...

my work schedule would allow me to volunteer more.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

today's economy and competing with so many other non-profits with all different focuses.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I owe too much to the heart connection to ever expect to repay it.

I have been volunteering for The Heart Connection for about 3 months and have absolutely loved my there. They provide awesome support for children with cancer and their families and they really are there to assist in every way. During camp, I could see how much it really meant to the kids and the great time they have with others. Camp is where the kids can be themselves and where they can be comfortable around others. The Heart Connection has an awesome network of volunteers that are always willing to help out at programs and especially during camp. The staff of the organization are great, always having new ideas and are never afraid to take on a new challenge. I will definitely continue my attention and time to this organization in the future!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

families, the community and most importantly the children.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

open another location somewhere else in the U.S.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

CAMP!!!!!! One of the best experiences in my life.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

college students, young professionals, business professionals and people that just wanted to help in any way they could.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

expand, open new locations so more people could be aware of it!

Ways to make it better...

I could have spent more time with the organization.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

some people that need an organization like this are unaware that it is available for them.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I have absolutely loved my time volunteering for here!

I volunteered for the Heart Connection because they are an organization that really cares about the kids that deal with cancer every day all year long. They raise money, do camps, run events, sports, shows and much more. I hope to be able to do much more throughout the year to show my support for the Heart Connection.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

amazing because everyone was there for each other and communicated as if we have been friends for years.
