Older and managably disabled horses have many good years left and deserve a better life than slaughter or neglect. Due to their age and infirmity they are often cheap enough to be a child''s FIRST horse - thus The Golden Carrot will teach children how to make that cherished first horse last longer and be more useful. The horses, with miles of experience and seasoning, are delighted with children and often bond with them, teaching children that animals are people too and deserving of respect and consideration. These attitudes will last for the child''s lifetime and contribute to the care and life quality of all animals in the future. When our facility is full, we help to place older or disabled horses in suitable homes.
