GCN is an organization which bridges the gap between gay people and Christians. We have the unenviable position of standing in between worlds as we attempt to grow in our understanding of ourselves and God. Every day more and more people become a part of this family as we all attempt to reach for the unconscious goal of every human; to be loved as God made us.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

GCN was instrumental in showing me a glimpse of the man I could be. It continues to be a source of wisdom and peace in my life which brought people to me who prevented me from hurting myself and committing suicide.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

None. They do what they can in the face of near-constant opposition. In time, as the church see the truth, I hope they will become a larger movement in the gay community.

GCN was there for me when I was trying to reconcile my faith and sexuality and felt there was no place to turn. I've since met my partner through it and made some wonderful friends and a great support network. I stick around to give back to those who come after who find themselves where I was 6 years ago. There's still a great need for this kind of organization.

I became part of the Gay Christian Network after I had mostly come to terms with my faith and sexuality, a struggle to which most of their resources are devoted. It has been incredibly encouraging, nonetheless, for me to find a community of other gay Christians, and I have even met my partner through the site.

I treasure the friendships that I have formed on GCN, however, and the site will always have value if for no other reason than providing those.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

New friendships, both online and in person, and significant encouragement in dealing with issues related to my sexual orientation.

I never participated on the message boards much, but I've participated even less of late because so few substantive topics are discussed and because so many of the discussions spiral out of control so quickly. I don't know if there's anything that can be done about this, unfortunately.

Giving Hope and a Natural atmosphere of Acceptance is the most powerful surroundings for any support group. There are minorities within all groups of minorities and all are being accepted and supported in GCN, not all board members and leaders of a network can pull this off like they have done and are committed to continue.

GCN has had my support for a long time, just after I attended their first annual conference gathering in Dallas. Never had I seen this world in such a new light as during the days of that conference, social settings and prayer.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

finding an accepting church as well as GCN membership in my area at local gatherings for discussions on life's challenges and well as accomplishments that merit thanks and praise.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

make GCN a household knowledge spread by all relegions.

GCN is truly an oasis, a haven for those struggling to reconcile sexual orientation and Christian faith. As one who is gay and married to a
straight spouse, and has only in recent years come to be OK with my orientation, I've been greatly blessed by the safe space that GCN has created for
those on a journey of figuring out how to integrate
'gay' and 'Christian' in their lives, regardless of where they are in that process. There is much encouragement and support to be found here,
and a spirit of grace and humility is clearly evident in the midst of a wide diversity of experiences and perspectives.

It's been a blessing to share experiences perspectives with those who are in similar circumstances and who "get it." To be able to both give and receive support and empathy has been a huge help in my own walk, and I sense it is for others as well.

Not really aware of anything I'd change. The GCN team does an amazing job, and has been steadfast in keeping the focus on their core mission.

GCN is a great resource for Christians, like me, who also happen to be gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender or those who support their GLBT family and friends. Stumbling upon GCN after a Google search nearly 3 years ago, I have become a more active member of the organization and in addition to being better able to reconcile myself and my faith, I have seen it work for others as well.

give more to help it grow even bigger.

GCN is doing important work, critical.
So many faith-filled people are out there needing to hear that God DOES love them despite their orientation. He loves ALL of His created beings. I was recently blessed by attending the annual conference. It was wonderful being around people who don't feel
that being LGBT and being a Believer in Jesus Christ are mutually exclusive. The organization welcomes varied views and promotes dialogue among people with views that differ.
This organization is a lifeline for many.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

attending the conference; listening to insightful audio files on the website; enjoying the fellowship with others via the online community

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

more quickly get conference audio/video files online. Spread the word so more people know about what GCN has to offer. Since the next conference is in Orlando I would get the word out in Florida as much as possible so more people will have the opportunity to benefit and those in that area will have reduced travel expense.

Through GCN I've found friends and community after years of feeling isolated and alone. First, I developed relationships online, and now that has moved to meeting people in person and becoming true friends.

GCN is a safe place for people to grow!
