The Gay Christian Network
Invite reviews
In a world that's often quite hostile towards gay people, the church regretfully plays a unhelpful role (to put it mildly). Many people assume that the Bible condemns homosexuality and they take this for granted, without even bothering to check the facts. We need more gay christians who have the knowledge, the compassion and the courage to face these challenges head on. GCN plays an important role in this discussion and at the same time it helps gay christians to build their own community.

It helped me to overcome my animosity towards the christian churches. I believe that trough websites and organisations like this we can reclaim the bible and restore its original message.

Make it more international (although they already are trying to achieve this).
GNC was a website a Christian friend found for me after my daughter came out to me. When I told my daughter about it, all she could say was, "Christian and Gay are two words I never would have put together". All she had read on the internet was very hateful words which made her think that she could no longer belong to the family of God, and that her father and I would no longer love her once we found out she was gay. (because we are Christian) We went to their convention and found some healing and a feeling of belonging that has been missing for some time. There is still so much hurt though, and so much reconciling to be done. I really hope you consider this non-profit worthy of attention and support.

Having the courage to be an "out of the closet" supporter of the GLBT community. Without the support of other Christians (who I don't think I would have know are out there without this website) I think I would have stayed hidden.

Have them consider more thoughtfully my faith beliefs, which are Christian Universalism. (the belief that through Jesus, all souls will eventually be reconciled to God)
My personal experience with The Gay Christian Network has been an absolute GOD send. I've attend the GCN conference in Denver this past January and was blessed in so many ways. In more ways then I may have ever expected.
GCN has saved my life and my mind. Accepting myself as who God made me to be is a real blessing. Without GCN this would've never happened.
God Bless GCN!

None! They do an excellent job already!
GCN has been the most important website in my life. It was because of this site that I learned that I was not alone, that there were many other Christian men just like myself that struggled their whole life with same sex attraction. I had been trained prior to believe that I lacked faith and was defective spiritually and it was my fault that God refused to hear my consistent prayers for an alteration of my orientation. Without GCN I might never have received the inner peace that I have now and I don't know if my walk with God would still exist. I am extremely grateful for this ministry and know without any doubt that it has been transformed the lives of many individuals for the better.

I don't have any advice for change.
GCN is a place for people to be who they are. I love that it is a safe place, and a place where like minded Christian Believers can share their hurts, and rejoice in victories!! I am so glad God led me to GCN when I was searching for a place that would speak to my deepest heart. The ministry that happens in this sweet place is so desparately needed in such a time as this. I am a grateful member of GCN.

GCN has encouraged me in my faith, and accepting that a great God loves me for me, not what the world, or church, says I am.

When I finally came to terms with being a Lesbian and a Christian at the same time - I did not know where to turn. Then I searched for Gay Christain on the internet and found this website. It was what I needed. It has a section talking about the specific points regarding Christianity and homosexuality. And then a message board to connect with other Gay Christians. And now I am connected with other Christians in my area and not only connect on the website but also in person.
This community is open and accepting and there to help and support all Gay Christians and their family.
No only is it a website and connecting locally but also they have an annual conference which I am looking forward to attending the next one.

Being able to accept my self as Lesbian and find a group of Christians that understand what it is like to be Gay and Christian has helped me in this part of my life journey.

Well this is a hard one - Maybe help coordinate regional area's to address issues within the Church and accepting gays.
The Gay Christian Network is the light in the darkness that is sometimes found in being gay and Christian. I found the organization to be a really caring place for people who are gay to find support in their daily lives and to live as Christians. While primarily Christian based, GCN is open to anyone.

I have found the members to be a great resource and support to me during some pretty dark times in my life and in some celebrations. I have not had the fortune to go to their annual conference, but I know several who have and have found it to be wonderful.

GCN is probably the #1 gay christian network on the web. It serves a very diverse group of denominations and does a lot to support gay Christians as well as their friends and family.

Continue to expand to provide in-person support groups in as many geographic areas as possible.
The Gay Christian Network provides a supportive system for gay, lesbian and transgendered persons on the basis of Christ's love for EVERYONE! As gay males, my partner and I were removed from membership in the Church of the Nazarene because we were gay. GCN provided a place where I could connect with others, find acceptance and learn more about the hope that we have in Jesus Christ.

GCN is a fabulous resource for LGBT (and questioning) people who are also Christian. Joining GCN has given me access to many people who have a great idea of what it means to be gay and Christian. I have received wonderful advice from GCN users and I have also been able to give advice of my own. GCN also has allowed me to meet new friends. Best of all, GCN has allowed me to make prayer requests and offer prayer for people in need.

... the friends that I have. My social life has always been quite limited because in the past being gay and still a follower of Christ has made me feel abnormal and isolated. I have and continue to be able to find people that I can help out and be helped by. I am hopeful that some of the friends I have made on GCN will be life-long friends.

... give examples to users of how a written message can often be interpreted in two or more ways. Due to the sensitive subjects at hand (being LGBT and Christian), there are an endless range of opinions from GCN users. Sometimes it is difficult to realize and remember that a written user message/post may not have the negative (or positive) tone that the message appears to have. Having example posts and possible interpretations might make this more clear to some users.
