Mission: The Gay Christian Network (GCN) is the preeminent interdenominational organization supporting LGBT Christians and those who love them. GCN provides resources and support to help individuals reconcile their faith and sexuality, builds interconnected networks of supportive Christian communities, and works with families, friends, and churches to create respectful dialogue on sexual orientation issues. GCN is best known for its moderated online "safe space" community, where over 13,000 people offer one another support, prayer, fellowship, and understanding in an affirming faith-based environment. This crucial support outlet is available to anyone in the world with an internet connection and regularly saves the lives of teens and adults alike. GCN's weekly podcast, YouTube video series, and Bible study materials educate and inspire gay and straight Christians around the world, while the organization's annual conference, welcoming church network, and local groups provide important face-to-face opportunities for worship, support, and community. GCN's groundbreaking new documentary, Through My Eyes, chronicles the interactions of conservative churches and gay Christian youth and is already changing hearts and minds in the church in a profound way to promote the full support of LGBT people.

GCN has been a place of hope and community for me. One can post prayer requests and get support when in the lowest of times - often, for many of us, when we come out and our fellow Christians denigrate and hurt us. Finding support - even if it is from someone far away - is essential to our learning to accept ourselves. I have not personally experienced organized in-person community on a more local or regional basis in person through GCN; perhaps that is an area for improvement.

The work of The Gay Christian Network is not something you can quantify. You can't put it into words. You can't fit it into a box. The kind of work organizations like GCN do is life-giving. It, in a few inadequate words, allows the "gay" person or the person with "same-sex attractions" to experience that they are loved - whether they act out on those feelings or not. GCN loves and affirms one where they are. There is no pressure. There is a prayer board. There is discussion. There is community. I have experienced the power of the love and concern of people for me that I have never met before; a kind of love and support that literally keeps you going. Things can be dark in this world for someone with gay feelings - sometimes especially within religious settings. To hear that God loves you no matter what anyone has to say about it - no matter what your position is on whatever - is something I can't describe. Non-profits like GCN undoubtedly deserve our respect and appreciation.

GCN has helped me stay grounded in my faith when the rest of the world tells me that I'm wrong. Without GCN i don't know where my faith would be today! It's made me so strong and I don't have anymore doubts!

GCN is an organization that has been helping folks who are struggling with reconciling their sexual orientation with their faith. I have been heavily involved with them for three years, and have seen first hand the difference that this organization has made in the lives of those who are members and those who seek guidance and support. Often, this organization is among the first contacts a person makes on their journey of reconciliation. The staff, while modest in numbers, is augmented by over 100 volunteer leaders and many thousands of active members.

GCN is the most amazing group of Christian people. 3 years my life was a mess I was attending a church that did not accept homosexuals. I would attend church and pray that the Lord would fix me and all week I would push back all my thought s and feelings holding them inside. never talking about them for fear that my family and church family would hate me as much as i hated myself. Then one day I will never forget it I sat at the computer and a google search for gay Christians. What I found was my new church home. I was welcomed with open arms and told that I was ok, that it is ok to be me. I joined in the message boards and quickly made friends that will be in my life forever. Through those Godly friendships I learned that it is ok to be gay and that Gods love is not only for the perfect christian man that walks the straight and narrow. but God loves me just as I am. I threw open the doors of the closet and and stepped out about 3 months after finding GCN and I have never looked back.
