GCN has provided me a place to learn, explore and love not only the GLBT community but God as well.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

bringing clarity to the different approaches people take to the Bible and homosexuality, with love and grace rather than malice and division.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

pray daily for unity within the church and ask to be a vital part of that.

More feedback...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

getting to know other gay Christians who love God and seek Him diligently.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

friendly and unassuming, gracious to different ways of thinking than their own.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

sow into the Kingdom of God through social justice acts such as by digging wells in Africa, as well as bring publicity to themselves and their cause, because our own oppression is not the only issue facing us as gay Christians.

Ways to make it better...

I had joined the discussion boards sooner.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

social pressures from the Church at large.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I am glad to finally have a place to join in community with other gay Christians. I never had that before in any large scale.

This on line community has made a great difference in my life and the life of others. It is well run, well moderated and very professional. The conference is a dynamic experience and helps many in the coming out process which benefits all of us. There is a radio program and a new DVD Through My Eyes which will help all faith communities better understand the LGBT experience.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

People have come out to family, friends, church communities and pastors. They have renegotiated the landscape for many conservative Christian churches.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

is connecting with peers in the LGBT community and my Christian faith. There are many venues to express and connect with what I am experiencing as an older lesbian.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Always helpful, always polite and always there. They are receptive to everyone's needs.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

It could really impact the Christian community and their understanding of LGBT people in the United States and the world. Our society would be changed.

Ways to make it better...

There were regional conference opportunities.

I joined GCN almost4 years ago at a time when I was wanting to get closer to God again. I had come out previously and for a while rejected church more or less, but felt that my faith was too big a part of my life to just ignore.
I found GCN through a google search I think - I joined and have
never looked back. Through GCN I found a local affirming church, a safe space to ask questions and not fear the backlash one might expect elsewhere online, and have made many strong friendships.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the number of people who join in various states of hurting, self hatred and loneliness... but soon become active members of the community, reaching out to others and accepting themselves.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

make an Android app!

GCN changed my life, it's fighting against the tide but i really think it can change opinions, and it's doing so lovingly. I can't see myself being here without it.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

everyone's lives' it has touched and the opinions it ha changed

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

hire an IT/web designer and restructure the website

More feedback...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

it is not trying to cause controversy or encourage hatred between both sides of the debate, it is trying to serve people lovingly and nothing more

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

wonderful

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

make a difference in millions of peoples' lives and change the opinions of christian culture and stop people feeling like they have no right to exist.

Ways to make it better...

there was more funding to enable GCN to hire the people it needs

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

the opinions of millions that think we're 'wrong'

One thing I'd also say is that...

GCN really just wants to serve the people involved, nothing more and nothing less, it is the most loving place i've ever been.

GCN is the best. Ever. Seriously, I've seen so many lives transformed by it, it blows my mind. It's such a supportive community, and they really work hard to produce the best resources possible.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

...the members' lives, the amount of people who found GCN to be a lifesaver is amazing.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

...oh my. Change the world. Our message could get out a lot quicker. We could help transform the Church which in many ways is one of the biggest things holding LGBT people back.

GCN changed my life. in the summer of 2003 I was lost and hurting, ready to give up on Christianity and Church. Then, I googled "gay and Christian" and came up with GCN. I stayed up all night that first night, amazed and inspired by the message board, and how I was welcomed by each member so lovingly. I regularly participate on the message board, listen to their Internet Podcast, and attend their yearly conference. All of it has given me a new lease on life in Christ, and helped me to know that I CAN be gay AND Christian, and I not alone! The Holy Spirit is certainly with GCN. This organization is a true, living and working agent of positive transformation for gay Christians, their families, and their churches throughout the world.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the lives of other gay Christians and in the dialog it is creating among families and churches worldwide.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

finding other people in the world who have struggled I have, and the improvement I've seen in my own relationship with God.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

extraordinarily kind and eager to get to know me as a person.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

use its resources to spread its message of Christ's light and love for all to EVERY church.

GCN is definitely a safe place for gay Christians - people who have so few safe places on the web to learn and interact. The community is vibrant and positive, and the GCN Radio podcast is of commendable quality. I don't know what I would do without GCN!

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the lives of people that have been changed and even saved from suicide by GCN just being there.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

burn out. Justin has a LOT of stuff to do, a lot of projects to work on, a lot of people to deal with.

More feedback...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the interactions with other people of diverse backgrounds and diverse perspectives - gay and straight alike.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

welcoming, kind, compassionate and loving. The kind that gives good advice and real support when it is needed.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

reach a lot more people who don't even know it exists!

Ways to make it better...

...can't think of a thing!

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

funding the growth that is becoming increasingly apparent.

One thing I'd also say is that...

there is no other website quite like GCN. If it was to theoretically disappear its absence would be felt deeply by a very large number of people.

GCN has had an amazing impact on my life. I found GCN at a time when I was still struggling with balancing my sexuality and spirituality. In GCN I found an amazing community of people who were there to support me and bless me at a time in my life when I needed it most. Now that a few years have passed I am not quite as in need of the support anymore but GCN is still in my life because it gives me a chance to support others the way I was supported.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

all the people who have found happiness and stability in theirs lives.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

give Justin a much needed raise as he is probably one of the hardest working individuals in the LGBT community.

More feedback...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

all the love and support I have received.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

amazing people

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

change the world!

Ways to make it better...

more people new about GCN and we could share more with others.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

not enough funding for the amazing plans God has for this ministry.

One thing I'd also say is that...

it is an organization I wouldnt change!

Though I haven't been a member of GCN for long, the organization offers me a lot. Obviously, the largest area of help is in my faith and Christian walk. Where society kind of looks at at a gay Christian as oxymoronic, GCN affirms and embraces LGBT people of faith. Different denominations and beliefs come together in a "safe" place. In little time, I have begun to feel like a member of a family, not just a internet community.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Gay people being aided and encouraged in their faith by other gay people of faith and our allies.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Start a mailing campaign to reach more potential donors. Attempt to advertise on popular networking sites and in affirming churches. Basically, tighten the logistics of the organization to streamline processes and stretch limited funds.

More feedback...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The sense of family and belonging almost immediately upon joining. I didn't have to work my way into a group. They openly accepted and encouraged me.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Though only by internet thus far, the staff are very knowledgable of the subject matter and sensitive to the needs of other members. Many volunteers are just ordinary members going the extra mile for everyone's benefit.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Provide more materials for free to people of faith; expand its mass media presence; hold more seminars and retreats for members in different regions; take GCN's message to the international community of gay christians beyond America's borders.

Ways to make it better...

An easier to find listing of all forums was provided.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Without a doubt, the biggest challenges preventing this organization from being an extremely positive force in the LGBT community are funding and recognition.

One thing I'd also say is that...

If the organization can further tap the power of its members to volunteer and listen to those volunteers in decision making, the organization has much more potential of remaining viable.

Gay Christian network is a valuable place and has provided a safe haven for those of us who might not be able to express ourselves as we'd like. The network itself provides great resources as well as the message board providing other resources and support all in all this place is a great online community for LGBT and non LGBT Christians alike!

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

The fruits of their labor of love. I have seen peoples attitudes and hearts change about who they were. I've seen gaps in the christian community being bridged all due to GAy Christian network and other such places.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I wouldn't change a thing.

More feedback...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The friends and relationships made by getting to know others in the online community.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Very friendly and helpful only wanting the best for the organization as a whole.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Do soo much for the LGBT community ten million dollars could fund GCN for a very long period of time and help them continually make the organization a better place to be.

Ways to make it better...

Couldn't have been any better.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Keeping the organization running and continually making it a better place due to lack of monetary funding.

One thing I'd also say is that...

GCN IS AWESOME!!!!
