As a Christian minister I realize that the LGBTQ has been all too often demonized b y the Church, leading those of faith in the community with no where to turn and causing folks to feel bad about themselves.
GCN is a marvelous antidote to this. They do great work, and are firmly committed to both people and Christ.

The Gay Christian Network (GCN) helps thousands of Christians who are gay or lesbian, to gain a positive attitude towards their homosexuality. There is still a lot of hate and discrimination towards homosexuals these days, especially within churches. Therefore, the work of GCN is urgently needed, and can help building bridges.

NOTHING!
I became part of the Gay Christian Network after I had mostly come to terms with my faith and sexuality, a struggle to which most of their resources are devoted. It has been incredibly encouraging, nonetheless, for me to find a community of other gay Christians, and I have even met my partner through the site.
I treasure the friendships that I have formed on GCN, however, and the site will always have value if for no other reason than providing those.

I never participated on the message boards much, but I've participated even less of late because so few substantive topics are discussed and because so many of the discussions spiral out of control so quickly. I don't know if there's anything that can be done about this, unfortunately.
I appreciate Jason's research on the Gay Christian issue and his opinion on GCN. I've read his articles. I also appreciate the support and views of the people in the Waiting Until Marriage section. I believe sex is intended, by God, for marriage only, and it's very helpful having the support from like-minded people on GCN.

It's great getting Biblical support from the WUM people and hearing their point of view. I believe they are doing a great deal for people who struggle with their sexuality and being a true Christian in a relationship with Christ.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Not sure I would change anything specifically. I don't do much on social networking sites -- I do much better being with people in person. It would be nice if they had an organization close to where I live, or a gay-accepting church in my area.

This site is amazingly helpful to people struggling to resolve their faith and sexuality. It provides a very great overview and the boards are great for getting peoples personal testimonies and making lifelong connections with people who have gone through what you're currently going through.

I wouldn't. I love GCN the way it is.
GCN is an organization that has been helping folks who are struggling with reconciling their sexual orientation with their faith. I have been heavily involved with them for three years, and have seen first hand the difference that this organization has made in the lives of those who are members and those who seek guidance and support. Often, this organization is among the first contacts a person makes on their journey of reconciliation. The staff, while modest in numbers, is augmented by over 100 volunteer leaders and many thousands of active members.

I personally have grown in my faith, my understanding and acceptance of my sexuality, and have gained hundreds of new friends who are supportive and contribute positively to my well-being and spiritual journey.

Try and raise additional funding to meet the needs of an ever-growing membership.
This website has so many aspects of service. Dealing with gay issues, with Christian issues and addiction issues. The website meets needs on so many levels - social, spiritual and physical.
They are also careful who they let in and who has access, so in the additiction chat sites, they are members who are there for a reasion.
