I was homeless 3 summers ago with my Dad, and spent 3 months at the Gathering inn. Staff were excellent, and the churches were very Loving. The Love of Christ, definately shines and brings many to Christ there. Praise God! I am now married with two kids and living in our house, working a Great job at Lowe's. All because I kept my Faith and Believed Mark 9:23 Hallelujah Thank You Jesus. ~Caleb Mothorn (916)200-6555

I was once a guest at The gathering. My first day I was scared and lost.sick and tired. My Boy friend and I had just lost our home, our car was stolen and we had no were to go.Our luck had turned, Though we did not know that at that time. We saw A flier on the wall at A food closet in Auburn. We were from Colfax, so Roseville was not A familiar place for us. I have never been so sure of anything else in my entire life as I am of the fact that My Lord and Savior intervened that day and brought us all the way from Colfax to The Gathering Inn in the big city. This place saved our lives. They offer so much more than just kind and caring staff.A place to shower and A change of clean clothing,A place to store a few of your belongings.I was Amazed at all of the resources they had to offer.1 of the services there was A drug and Alcohol class. We jumped on that. That brought us to A.A. we were able to find A Church near by, We also found out about A housing resource we were qualified to utilize.we were qualified because we wanted to get back on our feet and and get back into the regular everyday society. We thank the Good Lord every day for bringing us Not only closer to him but to leading us straight through the gates of The Gathering Inn.This place just didn't save our lives but many others also. We walked into this place early January 09. We have since moved into our own home after 9 months and continue to thrive upward on A daily bases. Our 2 feet firmly planted on the road to A much deserved and long awaited life. A life! A real and genuine life with God right there with us.Thank you so much Liz! you are my Eskimo...

My wife and I became homeless due to several bad choices in our lives. We turned to The Gathering Inn and when we did our lives changed forever. We not only were able to have food in our bellies and a dry place to sleep at night, we utilized the services they had to offer. I am PROUD to say with the help of the people at The Gathering my wife and I are 2 years sober this month, we also live in our home here in Roseville which is directly related to the help we received fro the ladies at TGI. GOD bless Liz, Suzi, Kym, and all the monitors for helping to save us from ourselves, we love you.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Reach out to the community for more funding. Maybe try to utilize the guests a little more for helping promote The Gathering Inn in the neighborhood.

I was absolutely terrified the day I went to The Gathering Inn. I had received the address from a referral on the phone. It was a Sunday afternoon, and I had no place to go.

A friend of mine dropped me off to the line standing in the alley of The Gathering Inn.

I waited in
such fear of the unknown, but when I got up to the front of the line, there was a smiling face. I was given a number and was told I could come in and wait. From then, I made a friend who explained everything to me. We were to sleep in a church and would find out which one at 6pm. I was so very grateful for The Gathering Inn that night. Fortunately I made it into a transitional home the next day but I now find myself in a similar situation and I know should I become homeless, I know The Gathering Inn, with its clean bedding, good food and good people are out there. It helps in this time when I am desperate that I know at least I'd have somewhere to go.

I would explain to the crowd of people how the process works at The Gathering Inn, while they're waiting in line.
