Fistula Foundation works to heal women suffering from obstetric fistula by funding treatment, surgeon training, and medical equipment. To date, we have funded fistula treatment in 28 countries.
Fistula Foundation is the largest private charitable foundation not accepting government funding supporting fistula treatment globally. Wherever possible, we work to empower dedicated local doctors in developing countries. We fund fistula surgery, surgeon training, the building of hospitals and operating rooms that are dedicated to fistula surgery, as well as “mobile” care clinics in rural regions of the world where no hospitals exist. Would you like to know more? The real heroes are the partner organizations, the surgeons and the patients. All around the world, miracles are happening for young women living places like Ethiopia, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. We invite you to take a moment now to visit our website and to learn how our donors' dollars are being put to work. Learn about the challenges of healing women in war zones and meet dedicated local surgeons who work every day to treat women who are suffering. Why wait? Take the journey with us right now. Reviews for The Fistula Foundation
I donate monthly to the Fistula Foundation because the stories of the women whose lives they have changed are remarkable. Their staff is clearly deeply committed to this work.
This organization does amazing work! I created an entire project to fundraise for the Fistula Foundation during my junior and senior years of high school. I'm so glad to help raise funds and awareness for a worthy organization that helps women heal, survive, and thrive.

In high school, I created my own volunteer project to help this organization after watching the DVD 'A Walk to Beautiful.' I was absolutely struck by the conditions that women with fistula are subjected to, and I wanted to help out! I contacted the Fistula Foundation and received a packet filled with helpful tips & information for becoming a Circle of Friends point person. A little over a year later, God blessed the project and my supporters & I were able to donate the cost of two fistula surgeries! I am very happy with this organization; I still receive newsletters, photos, and hand-signed notes from CEO Kate Grant & the rest of her team telling me how important my work was and continued support is. I have also checked out the organization's tax & income information, and everything looks to be as aboveboard & efficient as possible. Thank you for doing what you do, and doing it so well!
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Nothing comes to mind!
Would you volunteer for this group again?
For the time you spent, how much of an impact did you feel your work or activity had?

The Fistula Foundation has been doing wonderful work helping vulnerable women. My wife and I are very pleased to support such an effective and efficient organization. We have regularly made donations in honor of our children and grand-children for birthdays and holidays.
I also learned about The Fistula Foundation from Nicholas Kristof and have been very pleased with the important work that the program is doing for at-risk women. Not only is the Foundation effective, but it is a very efficient organization with tight financial controls. We have given contributions to the Foundation as holiday gifts to our children, in addition to contributing on a regular basis.

The Fistula Foundation is doing vital work for some of the most vulnerable people in the world.
I signed up for a monthly donation to the Fistula Foundation several years ago because of the importance of their cause and their efficient use of donor funds. We have the good fortune of living near their Bay Area headquarters, and, since then, my son and I have had the opportunity to meet the team and volunteer there. We've rarely encountered such a smart, passionate, committed group of people. They are the real deal and we feel so blessed to be able to support them in their mission of "changing the world, one woman at a time"!
The Fistula Foundation does remarkable work. I am proud to be able to support such a transparent and effective organization.
I first became aware of the Fistula Organization several years ago featured on a daytime talk show. The story left a lasting impression on me and I take the opportunity to share the story with others. The Fistula Organization will probably be the only opportunity for women in less developed areas to receive sophisticated medical care while also affording them compassionate care in addition to restoring their dignity. Women are the mothers of the earth and as such should be given the highest in regards.
The Fistula Organization is a much needed service and remains as my top priority in charitable service.
The Fistula Foundation is dedicated to providing essential medical care to women who would not receive it otherwise. It started with the very generous efforts of two amazing doctors, and now it has spread its services to women in 28 countries.
I do not donate to many charitable organizations, but I plan to continue financially supporting the Fistula Foundation as long as I possibly can. Bless each and every volunteer and donor!
This organization is making a difference, and I like that most of my donations go to helping women and not to high overhead and salaries.
I like that the head of this organization does not collect a huge salary as a number of charities do. It's a very well run group that does the important task of giving back the life of many women who often have been ostracized because of incontinence since they did not have the proper care in delivery or access to C section. And there are so many who desperately need this corrective surgery.
