The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation

I have had the pleasure of working with the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation for 3 years through the foundation’s “Up For The Fight” Dance Marathons that are held by several colleges nationwide. It has been a great experience working with some of the most motivated and dedicated team members, and they are an absolute inspiration. I have also had the pleasure of seeing the progress the foundation has made throughout the years. They are truly at the forefront for eliminating pediatric HIV/AIDS. Both the foundation’s research and services have played vital roles toward preventing mother to child transmission globally. In the future, I sincerely believe the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation will be a major force in creating a generation free of AIDS.

I've been privileged to be a part of EGPAF presentations, special programs and fundraising events. The candor, personal passion and obvious results shared by members of the organization inspires me to take note, get involved and spread the word every time! The mission is clear and straightforward- treating HIV infected mothers can and does prevent the spread of HIV to their unborn children. The widespread and heartfelt ways in which EGPAF spreads this mission- both in the U.S. and throughout Africa- is encouraging and certainly gives me great hope. I wish there were more organizations with the clear vision and goal of the EGPAF.

My name is Janice McCall and I am an Ambassador for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. Being an ambassador, I get to talk about pediatric AIDS and how the Foundation has helped change the lives of millions of families around the world, including mine. The Foundation does extraordinary things with the help of all its supporters, partners, and colleagues. Today, they help families all around the world by stopping mother-to-child transmission of HIV. They are making Elizabeth Glaser's dream a reality: To eliminate pediatric AIDS.

Without the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, there wouldn't have been care for millions of children infected with HIV, like me.

I wouldn't make a change. The work they do is amazing and I am proud to be an Ambassador for them.
I've supported the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation as a Family Ambassador for over 10 years. I believe in the organization's mission and the work that they do. I've seen first hand how the organization has impacted children all over the world. This foundation leads the movement to make sure that every child has chance at life by providing them access to life saving HIV/AIDS medications. They are currently on a mission to eliminate pediatric AIDS, a mission that in my opinion is very achievable. Wouldn't you want to be a part of something that great? This organization is going to continue to have an incredible impact for many, many years. I hope that you consider joining the organization in the fight against pediatric AIDS.

EGPAF supports existing health facilities in multiple countries in the public sector with delivery of prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV and care and treatment services mainly through supportive supervision.
EGPAF "supports" a high volume of sites. Often a single officer is responsible for supervising multiple health districts with dozens of sites in each district. This calls into question the quality of assistance this organization is actually able to provide given that it is spread so thin. It is questionable how EGPAF claims credit for the data that they report when their contribution is mainly infrequent visits health facilities.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
scale down the volume of sites it supports so it can actually provide quality support to fewer sites
