The food bank serves as a clearinghouse to work with partner agencies to distribute food to people in need. The requirement to get food aid is to call the food bank help line and ask for help. There are no other qualifications. The staff and volunteers on the helpline connect callers with a gratis food source near their locations. Some agencies provide other services as well, and the help line folks assist connection for other services as well as family food. I have volunteered in the warehouse and in the office. I currently have a regular shift on the help line. I have nothing but praise for the organization's effectiveness in helping those in need.
