I was so touched by this organization and the work that they do. I am a volunteer for the Taproot Foundation. Teen Living Programs received a grant from Taproot and I was the Account Director for the grant to create a website for Teen Living Programs. For that grant, we interviewed the participants, the board and donors. The dedicated staff and the wonderful, so deserving teens that go through these programs amazed me. Though I no longer live in Chicago, I still donate to this worthy cause every year.

I have been a part of TLP for a few years now and it is amazing to see how each individuals time and effort can really changes someone's life. What could be better than helping give a young person a chance to lead a happy, prosperous life?!

I have only been volunteering with Teen Living for a few months but the cause is some of the best. Everyone who works for teen living, helps and volunteers are extremely dedicated to not only the cause the but the teens themselves. Every event brings more and more people who are willing to devote their time. The belief in the teens is extraordinary.

I have been involved with Teen Living as a board member for the last year and as a volunteer for 3 years. Being fortunate to have spent time with both staff and our youth I have seen the great work and the impact our superb programs make in turning young people's lives around.

Teen Living Programs is an organization that cares about its volunteers as much as it cares about the youth it supports. There is a tremendous among of positive energy flowing through this organization and that rubs off on the kids and also on the volunteers. The employees and the board set high expectations and they really know how to motivate their volunteer base to achieve those goals. TLP also gets stuff done. They will new programs and initiatives into existence and the results are absolutely tangible. And they're willing to try new avenues to raise money and/or communicate with their donor base. This is one of the best non-profits I've ever been involved with. For a small organization (with a big mission) what they can accomplish is amazing.

I have only been working with TLP for a few months, but in my short time with the organization I have witnessed firsthand the endless amounts of enthusiasm that the volunteers have for the children involved. At a recent Christmas event, the TLP office was swarmed with folks running around getting presents gift-wrapped for the kids and everyone seemed to be in a jovial mood. And at a Thanksgiving event last month, I saw the how happy the kids were because of the efforts of everyone to provide them with pleasant holiday memories.

Although I have only been a volunteer with Teen Living Programs (TLP) for less than a year, my involvement with the organization has changed me in more ways than I can describe. The work that is done at TLP is unparalleled. I have never been involved with an organization with such a dedicated and motivated staff. The staff, board, volunteers, and donors all work together to really build a sense of family and community with Chicago's youth who are homeless. TLP approaches youth homelessness in a comprehensive way. They also realize that the youth they serve are just that, youth. While they may be homeless, it is not their homelessness that defines them; each youth is treated as a unique individual. TLP uses a model so that services are youth driven and staff supported. It is only through this model that youth who are homeless can truly learn how to be independent and this is what will allow them to lead self-sufficient, satisfying lives. I do not know where the future will take me, but I do know that Teen Living Programs is an organization that I will always support and never forget.

The Great!

I have been involved for three years as a volunteer on the Gala Fund Raising Committee as well as making individual contributions and attending key events. It has been so fulfilling watching the progress and growth of the organization as they bring in more and more volunteers and help more and more children. The enthusiasm and energy of the Teen Living Employees and volunteers is unbelievable. I have been blessed to be able to watch the new home be built and see first hand the difference the program has made in so many of the young adult's lives

I have been associated with Teen Living Programs for 3 years and have been so impressed with the staff and the mission of this organization. They truly care and are making a difference for the underserved youth homeless population in the city of Chicago. My husband, friends and family have all participated in helping to serve this mission

Words hardly do it justice, but Teen Living Programs is an incredible organization. Their mission is one you want to passionately stand behind and their staff is dedicated, warm and compassionate, to say the least. My experience here has showed me what it's like to work with people who are 100 percent dedicated to the well-being of others. TLP approaches their youth and their mission in an incredibly proactive way. They not only promote the change and betterment in the lives of youth who are homeless, but make it a goal that these changes yield lasting, permanent results. I can only hope that other people live day-by-day with the same passion that I've seen here at TLP.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

reach out to even more youth---the 2,000 youth who are homeless on any given night in Chicago.
