Mission:

Education of children at the elementary school level under the waldorf school methodology. Education includes academics, physical education and wellness, agricultural education, music, art and cooking. Education embraces the whole child. Grades from early childhood through grade eight.

Programs:

We educate children from preschool through the eighth grade. All of our graduates go on to be exceptional students in high school and all have been accepted into the four year college of their choice. One of our former graduates was nominated for the silver knight award as a high school senior. We have had four eighth grade graduations so far in the time our school has opened. In addition to academics we teach life skills addressing the whole child in our teaching philosophy. Our school population grows each year as our reputation for providing a higher standard in education and stability for our children becomes known.

A person entering Sunrise School of Miami will often notice particular things: the colors and shapes inside are different, the people (teachers and students) seem different - they greet you in such a friendly way. One of the many comments that we hear from parents and visitors is "imagine what I could have become - had I have gone to a school like Sunrise School of Miami". Waldorf education makes a difference - the only age developmentally appropriate curriculum - teaching the whole child. A school where imagination outshines memorization!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Observing the many unique changes in the students as they unfold through the grades.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The sense of community and desire of the parents to create a strong, growing Waldorf school foundation here in Miami, Florida.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

All of the faculty and staff care about each child and recognize and cultivate the many talents in each child. This is demonstrated and observed on a daily basis.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Build a campus that embodies the principles associated with Waldorf philosophy - self sustaining and designed to meet the needs of the student and community. Complete with farm gardens, performance center and green space filled with trees and nature.
