I am Rabbi Klapper's daughter. He runs a program called the Center for Modern Torah Leadership. While I was not actively involved in the program, I feel that I made friends with most of the other people there. While there I saw the most oustanding example of a community that I have ever been fortunate to see. (I'm very glad I didn't go to summer camp!)

I participated in the Summer Beit Midrash program and had a wonderfully rewarding experience. I have also participated in the campus seminars run by its staff, and found those of similar caliber. Lastly, I enjoy the many online recordings of lectures and programs available on their web site.

Attending the Summer Beit Midrash program, I was offered the opportunity to learn on an extremely high level with a people who truly cared about Judaism. I learned not only Torah and how to learn it, but I learned to appreciate it and revel in it on a deeper level than ever before.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

revitalize Torah Judaism in a way both accessible to average people and in keeping with Torah and tradition.

Ways to make it better...

the program were larger able to offer more learning.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

keeping up the network of people who have passed through Summer Beit Midrash and were otherwise associated. It's just a big task to keep track of everyone in a meaningful manner.

One thing I'd also say is that...

in the most serious sense of the statement, the program is vital to the future of Modern Torah Judaism.
