Every day that I volunteer at St. Vincent De Paul Society Council in Naples, Florida I'm amazed at all that gets accomplished with running a Meals On Wheels program that provides 85,000 meals annually, the providing of food on a daily weekday basis to people that walk in, many days 40/50 or more arrive at the Center and they are professionally screened and treated with respect. Besides food they are provided,if needed, with rent assistance, clothing, funiture, and given referrals to other agencies for any other assistance that may be necessary. All of this is accomplished with a full time staff of just 8 people and volunteers.

Since being involved over the past 3 years as a voluteer I've witnessed first hand that by giving a helping hand some of those people have gottten back on their feet and this is very gratifying.

Personal Assistance is provided by person-to-person contact in the Ozanam Center or in the family’s home. The people seeking help are interviewed by volunteer caseworkers to determine whether or not they qualify for assistance. Families helped are usually given food, clothing, furniture, household items, rental or utility bill assistance. St. Vincent de Paul collaborates with other agencies to provide help. Referrals are given when appropriate.

One of the very special ministries provided by Naples District Council of Saint Vincent de Paul is Meals-on-Wheels. Using only our own donations, volunteers and facilities we annually deliver over 85,000 meals to the homebound throughout Collier County. No government funding is used for this wonderful ministry.
