Mission: Mission of spca of westchester: the spca of westchester is a no-kill, not-for-profit animal welfare organization dedicated to saving homeless, abused or abandoned cats, dogs and horses; to providing lifesaving care to treatable cats, dogs and horses; to placing all adoptable animals in permanent homes; providing and promoting spray and neuter services; to protecting animals from cruelty and neglect through the aggressive and proactive enforcement of the humane laws of the state of new york; and to educating the public so that ignorance does not result in neglect.

Programs: Shelter services: the spca of westchester contracts with 14 municipalities to accept stray cats and dogs for return to their owners or to arrange for them to be adopted. A no-kill facility, the spca is committed to caring for all adoptable animals until a new home can be found.

humane law enforcement division: the spca is the only shelter authorized by new york state to enforce its laws as they relate to animal cruelty in westchester county and neighboring counties without an spca. Investigations encompass cruelty complaints involving dogs, cats, horses, exotics and farm animals.

simpson spay/neuter clinic (f/k/a animals by choice): through this facility the spca offers the public low-cost, spay/neuter surgeries, examinations, vaccinations and testing for diseases in an effort to help people keep their pets healthy. Since establishing the clinic in 1983, we have spayed or neutered approximately 54,700 dogs and cats.
