How many people have come to love birding just listening to Sheri and Tom talk about it? I'm one of them. I went on a trip with them and came back with a fire in my belly. It's not just interesting when you're with them, it's exciting. I don't get to spend a lot of time with them as I am often out of town, but you can bet I carry my bird books with me!

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

...my own life. I'm a birder since working with them! So is my son.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Find someone to take care of all their fiscal responsibilities and set them loose in the field. That would be the best place for them to be. You have to be with them in their element to catch the fire.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

...learning to be silent and just listening to what the birds have to say. Watching, studying their behavior for HOURS. Fascinating, thrilling, humorous!

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

...ignite a passion for conservation.

Ways to make it better...

...I had finished college. I found myself wanting to remember my science classes! But Tom and Sheri were very generous with their time.

I've know Tom and Sherri for many years - way before SABO. What they have created will impact this area and it's people for generations to come. I give them my 100% support. Peace & God Bless.....Frank Escobar, Jr.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

educate 100 million people for life.

Ways to make it better...

Give them more funding.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

should have more funding

My first encounter was a Hummingbird Banding session at the San Pedro House in SE Arizona. The experience was simply incredible with the volunteers and their operation. The level of skill, care and dedication of the group to it's efforts and it's mission is without question...it's for the birds! I enjoy every experience with SABO and it's works. Sheri Williamson & Tom Wood are tireless in their efforts to share their passion with everyone who show's an interest...and seeing the little one's release the capture's back into the wild is a sight to behold.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

seeing the recapture's and the journaling and recording of facts and information about hummingbirds.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

increase awarenss... funding and resources.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

learning about birds and their migratory patterns. The importance on the environment and the relationship between us and the birds. (they instinctively do better than we do!)

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

friendly, knowledgable and dedicated. The most passionate group of individuals focused on sharing their research.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

wow...do whatever it needed to make an impact on the natural world and conserving the resources of an entire region (protect migratory routes for future generations)

Ways to make it better...

hummingbird adoptions and follow-up on information, communications were improved.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

limited resources.

One thing I'd also say is that...

Enjoy introducing & sharing info on DVD's with guests and new visitor's to the region who are new to birding.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every six months
