I was having a rough time and was introduce to the SOME program. After going to an appoitment and hearing all that SOME had to offer I was very impressed. I later enrolled in the SOME Center for Employment Training program. At CET I have learned so much. I have enhanced my Admin. Assistant skills in typing, Microsoft Office Suite, writing skills, public speaking, and so much more. I'm in the Business Customer Relations Associate course. I also have a wonderful instructor named, Mr. John Adams. He has taken the time to make sure that whatever a position is looking for that his students has that skill. I also took and passed my GED in Sept. 2008 with the encouragement for CET. I feel now that I have the confidence to go out into the work force and secure a career job. Let me not forget to mention the other programs that I have supported SOME in as well. They had a awesome program for addicts. I'm not a addict but some of my classmates are and I go to the events that SOME celebrates with them for their recovery. SOME is one of the BEST Nonprofit organizations I have been introduce to. And I know that their doors are open for the ones that need their services. SOME--keep up the AWESOME job you do!

My experience here at SOME/CET has been the very best decision I've made in my life. When I came here I didn't have any job skills at all. Now I am proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. My self esteem has risen beyond estimate. I feel extremely confident in talking with people and in front of groups of pleople due to our presentations that we do every week in the BCRA class. The whole program is AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the fall of last year I receieved information about So Other's Might Eat Center For Employment Training. At first I put it out of my mind; but with the recession I could not afford to continue my education so I called and found out the first step in becoming a student at CET and the rest is history. I Have never loved going to school as much as I did when I was enrolled at CET. I thank God for all that I learned, the people that I met and the life lessons that I still carry with me.

At the school I learned about all the soft skills that will allow me to communicate better wityh an employer. I graduated from the school in 4 1/2 months and started working within 2weeks. Now in 2010 I am a supervisor for the very orginazation that taugfht me what I know. I am grateful and blessed that CET was put in front of me. And because of CET I know am on the mission of helping others like me. CET is a GOD send, keep doing what you are doing.

Three years ago I was desperate looking for someone to help me with my addiction, I heard about a place called SOME, I called and was told to come in and have an intake done. I came in, had an intake done and did what was suggested of me. I went to their program in West Virginia, came back to DC and stayed in one of there Transitional Houses and learned about their Center for Employment Training School. I attended the school and right now as I'm writing this I have been a SOME employee going on two years now. I love this organization, they did everything to make me a productive member of society again, I will be forever indebted to SOME

I have been working with SOME for about seven years. Our organization found the SOME help individuals get the training they need to be successful in the workplace. We have hired students that went through the program and we have been very happy with the results. I highly recommend SOME as a training facility that cares about their students and want them to succeed. I am proud to be part of SOME and will continue to do whatever I can do to continue to support the program. Thanks SOME for all that you do.

When they had their facility on Benning Road prior to them closing, I use to come and do mock interviews with the students. It allowed them to prepare for interivews when they start looking for employment.

I have donated to SOME for years. Yes, they provide many, many meals to hungry people in the Washington, DC area. Yet they have addressed many other needs like health care and housing! Several years ago, I was delighted to learn that they had helped someone I knew, and the help made a life changing difference.
