I was a General Member of the Public & looked at the exhibition, shopped in the store

I looked ahead on the website to see the store hours to make sure they were open, but when I stopped in on a Monday there was no one in sight. I spoke to someone in the office (a younger woman with dark hair) but she seemed a little agitated with helping me. I have been coming here for years and usually purchase gifts over $100 so I expect good customer service. The store looked good, but when I asked another employee that was passing by (a heavier blonde woman) a question about the art, she did not know the artist's name or anything about it.You would think a place with such high priced items would have knowledgeable staff. I was pleased to see some new lower ($50) priced items, though.
The Great!
- What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... the store is great. I love bringing people to the exhibitions.
- The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... seemed too busy to help me
- If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... find a location with better parking
Ways to make it better!
- My experience would have been better if... The store had a dedicated, experienced staff person
- If I ran this organization, I would... get more knowledgeable staff
- In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... the economy
I was a Professional with expertise in this field & I was a finalist in two shows there.

As an artist, I've been working with the people at SCC for about a year now. They're on the ball, friendly, passionate and smart. They host two amazing grants each year (the LEAP award and the Raphael Prize), put on top notch shows, and do their part to educate Pittsburgh's public on the craft world.
The Great!
- I've seen the results of this organization in... participating in two excellent shows there, and selling a piece in their gallery.
Ways to make it better!
- If I ran this organization, I would... move it to Richmond, VA!
I was a General Member of the Public & Checked out the artwork and took a studio catalogue.

Awesome! As soon as I walked in I was greeted, the person in the store told me all about the organization. I had no idea they offered classes! The work in the gallery was amazing, and I wanted everything in the store. Great place, I highly recommend going!
The Great!
- The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... knowledgeable and eager to talk about everything the Society is about. They were all very friendly and made me feel very comfortable.

- In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... The redevelopment going on in their area. I hope it doesn't cause yet another great place to have to move because they can no longer afford the neighborhood they helped build.
I was a General Member of the Public & I visited the current exhibition
