Snowbird has changed my life, forever, for the better. I cannot imagine not having the relationships and growth that I've known since becoming a part of this organization. The authenticity and dedication that is exhibited and exuded throughout anyone who has been any part of snowbird large/small feels community and a part of a family. I'm not sure what more you could expect out of any entity than the genuine impact that Snowbird has had on me, both, personally and professionally.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

my everyday life of feeling a part of something larger than myself helping students overcome and get through things that I myself have faced/been through.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I would allow more students to have scholarships/means to come back to camp in the summers.

SWO is an absolutely wonderful opportunity and I'm so glad I was able to partake in the activities provided by SWO. My experience with Snowbird was a few summers ago when I was able to work in the missios group and help to provide services to those in need. The whole week there was a great time to create relationships with so many while learning about living with God. I've always wanted to go back as the experience was unforgettable!

The Great!

It was great to get to go to SWO with a group from my church as we worked together and learned so much!

I can't think of changes to make. The people who work there are wonderful and the experiences are incredible!

I can not think of any organization, school, church or intuition that has influenced me as much as Snowbird has. I first came to Snowbird when I was 12 years old, I had just moved over 2,000 miles following my father a Captain in the Air Force. To say I felt like an outsider suffering from massive culture shock would be an understatement. However at Snowbird I fell instantly in love with the staff, the community and of course all the outdoor recreation offered. They were (and are) some of the ‘coolest’ people I have ever meet, they had a genuine desire to get to know the students and leaders and to form real relationships with them. That was almost ten years ago, since then I have come back every summer as well as winter and fall. I have brought many students there with me, all of them equally as impacted as I was.
Snowbird has over 25 different outdoor recreations offered and a staff to student ratio of one staff to every three or four students. In my experience this unique just to Snowbird, the other camps or youth centers that I have been to have a staff ratio more to the tune of one staff to every 20 (or more) students. This causes the students to have awesome experiences yes, but to form lasting relationships with people only a generation or two ahead of you who’s only wish is to encourage the younger generations to pursue Christ and help them grow and conform to His image. This is amazing to me and I highly encourage you to help them in their mission.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

working with my own students Snowbird has helped strenghten our relationship by not only teaching them solid Biblical truth but allowing us to spent time enjoying the outdoors together and for my students being able to throw me into the river while white water rafting.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

change nothing.

What an amazing place. Our teenagers loved it, the adults loved it, anyone who has the snowbird experience will not be the same. The staff is amazing-we left feeling like we gained a new family. Their commitment to Christ and to the campers is without compare. The recreation was over and beyond any camp I have ever been to. The worship services took us deeper into the heart of God. I would recommend SWO to anyone, hands down. There Is NOT another camp anywhere like it!

The Great!

Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters is a high adventure youth camp in Andrews, NC. They have an outstanding role in their community that substantially benefits their neighbors. They offer extensive college and career opportunities for young adults seeking jobs in the realm of youth counseling. They provide specific internship opportunities, college course credits, life saving and medical certifications, and many more life skills the equip youth and young adults to be better contributors to their communities and society as a whole. Bottom line, they are good at what they do, and anyone that knows them benefits from them.

I have been to Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters 2 years as a youth pastor and have taken around 30 students and leaders each year.We are going back this year as well. My overall experience with the organization has been great. I am very pleased with my communications with them over the past couple years. The staff is very personable and develop relationship with their clients almost automatically. The camp staff that is hired to work with students do an excellent job. One of the best things about them is that they spend hours and hours with students each week developing relationship and really influencing students in positive ways.

My only constructive feedback would be this- my hope for Snowbird is that they can eventually offer the camp for less money per student in order to really reach out to people who may not be able to afford camp. This responsibility does lie with the group sending the students, but I feel that if they can receive some grants and/or receive other support, then they can offer their services for less money.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

seeing the personal growth of my students. These students are deeply impacted by their time at the camp and return home changed. This year we are attending a specific part of the camp in which students go out into the community and serve by helping with construction/home repairs. I fully believe that this will be an amazing experience.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

not make any changes.

We heard about SWO, saw a preview DVD and decided to take 5 students for a weekend to check it out. Within 15 minutes of our arrival, the counselors there knew the names of our students and were genuinely getting to know them, their lives, and their position in relation to our heavenly Father. That weekend laid the groundwork for countless relationships that have developed between our church and the SWO staff over the past 7 years. Our students, volunteers, and I have been tremendously impacted by their examples of living out the Gospel in their daily lives and encouraging us in ours. Every church of any size is welcomed and accommodated, challenged to grow spiritually, and have an incredibly fun time in the process.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

our ministry to students through ski retreats in the winter and mission camp in the summer. I've also attended their weekend for youth workers and several adults from our church have attended their marriage retreat. In December 2010, my husband and I went to Honduras with the Snowbird team. The entire organization is a testament to the power of Christ.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

improve the online registration process for adding students. Be a bit more timely for breakfast. Example: If everyone is supposed to be at breakfast at 8am, then have everything ready at 8am rather than 8:15 or 8:30, etc.

I worked at Snowbird during the summer of 2011 and it was the best experience I have ever had. This organization seeks to spread the Gospel to all of the campers who come here, and being a product of this ministry, I know that they are making a difference. Brody, and the Big Kahuna, are the most selfless people I have ever met in my life, and they put absolutely everything they have into this ministry. In this economy, it is difficult for some that have previously donated much to the organization to do so this year, so any amount of funding would tremendously help in this organization. I don't know another organization more deserving than Snowbird to receive this generous gift.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

coming to the camp for the first time in 2008. I learned so much about how I needed to be actively pursuing Christ, and not just going through the motions. I came back in 2009, for another summer program, and after that I knew that one week was not enough, that I really wanted to be a part of the ministry and work there for the summer.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

add another week of camp. I know previously there were not very many churches that came to the last week of camp, but I feel that one more week at a discounted rate, would be beneficial so that some weeks aren't too overbooked.

We have taken our youth to CampSnowbird (SWO) on several occsassionss and have always been blown away by their hearts for the Lord and students. Our youth love these guys and manyof them have had their lives changed for eternity throuh the ministry of SWO. As a youth minster for nearly a decade, I have never been happier with a camp than I am with Camp Snowbird. They are focused on the right thing...the Kingdom of God.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I have seen lives changed every time we've come to SWO. God is working in this place.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I would change NOTHING.
