Sisu Children's Fund is the only organization families can turn to when their children need medical treatment, therapies or equipment and it is not covered by insurance. Over $100,000 hs been given to children in Washington State. Scholarships are provided to students with medical or physical problems to help them become productive members of society. Speech, vision, phyical and occupational therapy are poorly covered services by insurance and many children need weekly care in these areas so this is a large part of our donations. In this poor economic time with many under employed our organization has become more important than ever,.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Understanding the cost of medical care and the help that was available but not covered by the three insurance policies we had on our daugher after multiple brain tumors and a stroke. Therapeutic horseback riding strengthen and exercised her body after the stroke. A brain retraining program helped her speech. None of this was covered by insurance, but helped her tremendously.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I would have a similar program in every city and every state. There is always money for many causes, but there seems to be no help for families that need assistance for children needing medical treatments. People assume insurance will pay or Medicaid will cover everything and this is not true.
