It is an organization that has its' ear in the community, listening to the needs of the under-served and finding ways to meet those needs. From providing domestic violence assistance, to providing resources to women in area shelters, to writing letters to our soldiers in Iraq, Sisters4Sisters, Inc. is constantly working to provide support, resources and empowering workshops for women and girls in our community.

I've personally experienced the results in passing out winter coats and toiletries to women in shelters. Passing out toys to kids so they will have a nice Christmas. Delivering Thanksgiving baskets to those in need during the holiday. Passing out school supplies so kids will be prepared and ready to learn.

Provide money to help build the infrastructure of the organization and money to support needed services. There are so many people in need and the numbers are constantly increasing. Providing Sisters4Sisters, Inc. with the necessary funding will ensure that people will receive the services for which they are so desperately in need.
As the proud Assistant Director of this organization, I have enjoyed working closely with the Founder and Director to bring empowering programs to the women of the community. During the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays Sisters4Sisters, Inc provided resources, food baskets, and toys to the less fortunate families in the community. It was heartwarming to see the number of volunteers that came out to lend a hand wherever needed: make food baskets, deliver the food, or assist the seniors. Most recently, for heart health month we provided education, health assessments, and free membership to community health programs to more than 50 women. This was a very important initiative for the organization since heart disease is the #1 killer among women. I value the work of this organization and look forward to the ongoing impact it will have in the community.

I began supporting Sisters4Sisters in the Spring of 2010 after my sister was killed by her husband. I was looking for an organization that ministered to the needs of battered and abused women. I found that Sisters4Sisters not only supports issues of domestic violence through the LOVE program, but also invests in young ladies via a mentoring program, women's health issues (especially Heart Health and HIV education) incarcerated women, women in shelters and those who are attempting to learn new skills in order to move from welfare to work. I am continously impressed by how much is accomplished by the organization and the level of impact the organization has in the community.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
watching its impact on the women in the community. Although the organization serves women who are hurting; volunteers and donors also benefit mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. By leveraging technology, the leadership is able to deposit into the lives of volunteers via the Tuesday calls and the Purpose tele-conferences. This ensures that volunteers are not only receiving the intrinsic rewards associated with giving; but also the support through sisterhood and coaching.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
find ways to involve new volunteers in projects and committees. (Maybe have committee chairs reach out to new volunteers once interests have been identified.)

This is my first year working very closely with the Communications for Possibiliteas and it was a good experience to have weekly calls, contact local arenas for support and promote the event. I was able to use my strengths and acquire more by working in the group. The event was a success because all the volunteers stayed professional and prayed through the frustration moments. As trial and errors happen the group will be better.

I was looking for a women's organization that focused on various areas of life and issues women face. As a Registered Nurse and Wellness Coach, I wanted to offer my services to women focusing on the Mind, Body, and Spirit. Since becoming a member of Sisters4Sisters,Inc I have been blessed with the fortitude to provide and witness the changes being made in women's lives! The Director, Carolyn Washington is very passionate, spiritual, and results-driven. She clearly has a vision and purpose for the success of this organization. Please endorse Sisters4Sister,Inc. and allow another woman to begin her journey to a new life.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
being able to meet some so many people. I have an opportunity to interact with those who need help so I see first hand how my money, donations, etc. are helping those who need it most.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
selfless and kind women who, in spite of all of their own commitments, are still willing to make the sacrifice to help others.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
create national and international programs that would have impacts on women and children now and for generations to come.

I felt a great warmth from the sisterhood during an event I attended, at the time I said to myself I would really like to join and make a difference, however my finances were really tight, I went to my car to leave and something was telling me "Denise" you make that sacrifice and lean towards God he will provide for you, I got out of my car went back into the event and joined the Sisterhood and I am enjoying making a difference for someone else. God is Good All the Time

Sisters4Sisters has been an inspirational orgraninzation. I have always supported the events of Sister4Sisters by making online donations for "Back to School Drives" and Food Baskets and I wanted to attend an event. The first event I attended was unorganized but a blessing. Because of this event, I voulnteered to do the registration list for our next event.

Sisters4Sisters has been a very positive influence in my life for almost three years. I came to my first fellowship meeting alone and the sisters welcomed me with open arms. I really needed more positive, proactive and prayerful women in my life and I found this and more at Sisters4Sisters. I have enjoyed meeting women from various backgrounds and experiences and sharing common desires for friendship, love, giving and caring for thoese in need. The friendships that I have developed are invaluble and came at a time when I was somewhat down and needed to connect with a ministry like Sisters4Sisters so that I could help others and not focus so much on my own needs. I relized how blessed I was in so many areas of my life and I was able to experience the joy of helping others. This ministry is open to women of various ethnicities, backgrounds, experiences and social-economic status. No one is treated differently based on these factors. This ministry is organized, detail oriented and encouraging. A positive and God centered ministry, I have grown both spiritually and emotionally through my involvement with them. I look forward to opportunties to help others while at the same time I am able to enrich my purpose for being here. Carolyn Washington, the founder and CEO truly loves to help women and especially those who are the least likely to get help from others. She knows all the members and volunteers by name and makes everyone feel special. Sister Washington does not talk the talk but she unselfishly walks the walk daily to help others who are hungry, victims of domestic violence or sexual abuse, need clothing, food or a safe place to stay and so many other needs. This ministry has given more purpose to my life and to why I am here. When I help and focus on the needs of my fellow sisters, I do not have time to have a pity party about my concerns. Sisters4Sisters is a tremendous blessing to me and I am glad I found it by accident while online searching for a book club. This accident was actually the purpose that I was searching for during that season of my life.

A most powerful experience was at our domestic violence/sexual abuse prayer breakfast. I shared a very painful experience in front of hundres of women without fear. Some had similiar experiences. Others hugged and supported us. I was free from that pain.
