A little overhyped given their fb following & tv show on dirty jobs. Animal holding places stunk to high heaven & they were letting kids pet monkeys with huge canine teeth. Very scary & stupid to say the least or they just have awsome isurance. I wasn't prepared for that at all & thought it woudl be a safe place for my family but left appaled that they'd risk public safety in that way. Told one of the staff members about my concerns but was rudely dismissed. IMO the price is too high for what you get also.

Make sure animals stay in cages & away from the public where they belong!!!! I get that this place isn't a real zoo but letting people touch WILD animals for the sake of ratings is a dumb idea. Price was also steep.

We take our grandchildren on field trips to Sharkarosa and it is an awesome experience. The staff and volunteers are exceptional: informative, patient and are excellent with the animals and the visitors. We always do the private tour for 10+ and we are treated like royalty. I highly recommend Sharkarosa as a positive field trip adventure for all.

My son will attend camp at Sharkarosa for the 3rh time this June. He loves being able to help with the animals. We have also had a birthday party there, and have made a few Saturday visits. They are very knowledgeable and caring for their animals, and make the visits enjoyable.

I had a phenomenal experience at Sharkarosa. It is such a great place to take my sons and let them interact with the animals and learn. They are taught so much more in a few hours at the ranch than they could ever get from a typical zoo. My boys have gained such an appreciation for animal life and the importance of keeping the earth clean and safe for those animals. I take them to Sharkarosa as much as I can.

i went on a field trip there with my sons 2nd grade class,Jacksboro Elem. School, i had the best time we all did. My son has cerebral palsey and i couldn't lift him in for the train ride and the man that was driving the little train came right over and lifted him in so he could ride like the rest of the kids, i really loved the place and am planning on taking my other kids back soon.

I have taken all of my Grandchildren at various times. The excitement, education and wonderful interaction with the animals experienced by them all was evident in their conversations weeks later. We stumbled on this on a weekend drive to nowhere in particular and has become one of our favorite places to visit, relax and enjoy the beauty of Nature.... the Staff is amazing and Scott has done a wonderful job opening up the World of Nature to a lot of people. Thank you

sharkarosa is AWESOME...they do super work taking in rehabilitating animals and providing an up-close experience with many creatures that you could only see thru glass, or bars, in a regular zoo. the staff is dedicated to their work and are a pleasure to interact with. sharkarosa also provides a unique opportunity for kids interested in animals to volunteer and gain priceless experience through their volunteer program. all-around fantastic. LOVE SHARKAROSA!!!

The Sharkarosa is a special place and a great find. I started taking my 4 year old here last year and we go back at least once a month (she would like it to be more). It allows the children to interact with the animals, and not just look at them from afar. I highly recommend to anyone that has an interest in animals to go spend a day at the Sharkarosa. Its a wonderful experience.

Hi akfreebird, I want to apologize that you didn't have a good experience at Sharkarosa. Our web site clearly states that we are an interactive facility. I want to point out that we absolutely do not allow interaction with monkeys. We do bring out trained educational lemurs for people to pet their tails, which is completely legal. We are licensed not only thru the USDA, but also hold a Zoological permit, which is very hard to get and does qualify us as a zoo. We do not do anything for the sake of "ratings." We breed rare and endangered species for zoos around the world and run educational programs during the week. If you remember the name of the staff member who was rude to you, I'd love for you to email me in private; we don't tolerate any underserved rudeness towards guests.
