I was a Donor & I attend their fund raising events and my business partner serves on the Board.

As a donor, I have been very impressed by the success stories of real families who have gotten a "hand up" rather than a "handout" from this organization. I have met some of these success stories. SPIN consistently gets people off the streets and into productive lives. They take my dollars and turn it into hope...
The Great!
- The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... Members of the business community who want to give back to those less fortunate.
Ways to make it better!
- In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... Fund raising for operational expenses. They are able to get grants, but not to cover basic expenses of the organization.
I was a Donor & as a violunteer I was a "family counselor" helping with budgets, schooling, etc. As a Board Member I chaired the yearly fundraiser for several years.

I started as a volunteer in the office of SPIN in 1992. I've been happy to see the organization grow and sustain the wonderful programs it offers to get people to become self sufficent. I was an active board member for many years and am still always happy to help out when I can. The leadership is stong and very professional - all the while serving from the heart!
The Great!
- I've seen the results of this organization in... seeing lives changed, permanently for the better.
- What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... the Executive Director is extremely professional and qaulified - and truely serves from her heart.
- The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... excellent!
- If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... eliminate homelessness and make a dent in addiction - while helping people become productive individuals.
Ways to make it better!
- In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... lack of education in the general public - and too many people to help
I have served on the Board of Director, Advisory Board, in the field working with the people SPIN helps and serves as well as donated money to SPIN. This is a great organization which fills a much needed gap in services for the homeless families of Orange County CA.
The Great!
- If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... Exponentially change the number of homeless families that find self sufficiency, self respect and a productive place in society
Ways to make it better!
- In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... It's ability to raise money fast enough to meet the growing needs of the OC community.
I have served on the Board of SPIN for more than 3 years. As a Board we work with staff and donors to return more than 90% of our funds into our programs. This takes tremendous fiscal restraint and yet the staff are 100%5 supportative. Each staff person is a key element in the organizations success. This year all of us are shouldering more of the administrative burdens to ensure that the working poor in Orange county have every opportunity to thrive.
The Great!
- If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... Endow our programs permanently. We could purchase our own housing units that would provide a safety net to our program graduates. wWth our own housing we could help more family's attain sustainability and a return to dignity in their lives.
Ways to make it better!
- In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... raising the unrestricted funds needed to continue our programs. We could accept more grant funds if as a Board we felt comfortable enough to meet the overhead expenses needed to expand. Services are desperately needed in the County and we are squeezing
Have been affiliated as a Board member and supporter of SPIN since 1997. SPIN is extraordinarily effective at making people self-sufficient, who have practically given up hope on life.
The time and commitment made by SPIN (handful of people) yield remarkable benefits to the community.
The Great!
- I've seen the results of this organization in... many ways over many years.
- What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... witnessing people regain a life for themselves and family members when all looked lost.
- The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... extrememly devoted to helping others.
- If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... change the lives of many people.
Ways to make it better!
- My experience would have been better if... I were able to devote more time to assist in their needs.
- If I ran this organization, I would... do all possible to get more endowment monies flowing to it so that it could do more for those in need.
- In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... keeping sufficient funding up to the need levels.
- One thing I'd also say is that... grass roots organizations like SPIN deserve our support based on the results they achieve.
