In 2010 Seedlings of Change online community held two creative projects that ran simultaneously! The recruiting of our community artists to design our logo and to design for promotional items for Seedlings of Change online shop! Rebecca Hansen designed Seedlings of Change Logo and Carolyn Espinosa created two art designs; “Plant Your Seed and Soar” and “Life is Ever- Changing” for use on Seedlings of Change promotional items. And the Global Harmony quilt project of which the wall hanging seemed to evolve by itself! Seedlings of Change online community have numerous groups of interest and a Quilt group emerged. Sewing and Quilting have brought hope, warmth, security, jobs to people all around the globe. Lifelong traditions and knowledge were brought about by the sharing of fabric, patterns, and skills as people moved about the world. We were interested in what different things were being done and what similarities would be found from country to country, related to stitching. A call was put out for pieces of fabric. We received fabric from Denise in Paris, France, Kumud from India, Anna from Connecticut, USA, and Carolyn from Washington, USA sharing fabric from England. The colors blended, the varied textures worked. Sharon Emmett ended up with the fabric and the challenge of putting together a wall hanging. She reached out to the community and was rewarded with love and friendship as their experience and artistic ability helped make this wall hanging become a reality. Sharon’s Old World Map material from Kentucky depicts the global impact. Stephanie, from Sharon’s line dancing group, shared her great knowledge and those ideas that flowed out became a huge part of the wall hanging. Elaine Hanley, a sewing friend, spent a whole day with Sharon, with both of them cutting, discussing and sewing and at 6:30pm the basic wall hanging was together. Elaine designed the tree root at the bottom and ultra suede leaves to enhance the Seedlings theme. Nancy Hartmann named the quilt "Seedling of Change" and painted the name on Elaine’s beautiful piece of fabric which tops the wall hanging. Carolyn Espinosa from Seedlings community toured England and picked up the fabric and choice other items and her friend, Hannah Cook also from Seedlings designed her square. With the extra fabric, 2 more quilts and 2 tote bags were made. Seedlings of Change continue to grow and touch those in every corner of the world. We can all accept peace within us every time a Seedling reaches out to help someone or something grow!

I first heard of Seedlings of Change through my sister, Joan Douma.
After reading Seedlings Mission Statement and investigating further, I signed on.
Seedlings of Change, under the guidance of Eveline contantly moves forward to touch people around the globe with many different projects.
We began work on the Global Harmony Quilt and asked for small bits of fabric from around the world. We were amazed at the response and interest and this beginning lead to the discovery of various other projects touching the world.
A couple of examples:
A group of quilters making quilts and donating them for the soldiers injured in the war.
A lawyer in a 3rd world country setting up a program to teach women who had been taken from their families and when they escaped, were not welcome back into the villages. A place was formed with a teacher to teach sewing. When the time was over, they got $100, a sewing machine, and fabric.
These 2 examples are just a part of the type of work that Seedlings of Change is in the midst of. Eveline constantly searches for more ways of bettering our world, one person or group at a time.
Seedlings of Change is a gift to all.

I think at this time, Eveline is taking the necessary steps to move Seedlings of Change along a positive path

I've been with this org. since the very beginning. I greatly identfy with its vision. Sowing seeds of harmony, tolerance and cultural bonding can ensure a better and peaceful world.

The cutural harmony quilt created by the members from all over the world is a heart-warming and wonderful example of vasudhaiva kutumbakam, ie., the vision of entire world as ONE family. It has paved the way and made us realise its possibility bringing us a step closure to its realisation.

It sows seeds of such bright and positive change so needed for us to survive and thrive. We owe it to Earth, to ourselves and to our children & the following generations.

I wish more seeds for strength & more success towards realisation of a better world.

No changes. Only I'd like to see more and more motivated people join this wonderful organization which quietly, slowly but surely goes on sowing more seeds of a future world where all are equal and where all cultures and communities flourish in peaceful co-existence.
