I have just returned from an exhausting trip and I have to get up at 5 in the morning tomorrow. Usually I would be passed out on my bed around now, but I saw the opportunity to write a review about this organization. So, instead of much needed sleep, I am doing this. Why? Because this organization is incredibly important to me. Aside from the wildlife care, the San Bernardino Mountains Wildlife Society provides vital education to public about local wildlife and the forest, including safety, laws, forest care, and wildlife information. On many occasions I have found myself volunteering through fog, snow, and rain in the dark of night for animal rescues and emergencies. And i wouldn't have it any other way. Volunteering here has had an incredible impact on me. I have made priceless friendships. While I am at the facility I receive a sense of peace, as if I am doing exactly what I am supposed to be doing. I live a very stressful and busy life, but working with the animals calms the storm like no other. The time I volunteer for this organization is far from wasted. I learn a plethora of skills, but more importantly, I get to make a difference where it matters. If one million dollars were to land on my door step, it would be in my possession for as long as it takes to drive to the facility. While such money could make my life much easier, the San Bernardino Mountains Wildlife Society needs it far more than I do. In conclusion, the San Bernardino Mountains Wildlife Society is, in my humble opinion, an organization that is out to do the right thing and to make a difference, with no desire for personal gain.

It has been a wonderful experience working with Wildhaven. The dedication the people have at Wildhaven has been very heart warming. I have learned a lot about not only the animals at Wildhaven but also the animals in the wild. Although I don't work directly with the animals while at Wildhaven, I am always so impressed with the care and love the handlers give so freely to the animals.

that you can watch people that don't even know each other come together, work together, and give so freely of themselves for such a great cause. I think Wildhaven is truly a Sanctuary and a great one at that!

I have been a volunteer at Wildhaven Ranch for fifteen years. In that time, Ive seen the founders sell their home and contribute the profits to Wildhaven Ranch and provide the animals, from their retirement income, with the best care and food and so that the facility could survive. They've survived and evacuated from two fires. One came very close and the other wiped out the facility. Replacing uninsured equipment and supplie4s has been an uphill battle. Wildhaven staff and volunteers are completely dedicated to the animals. No matter what...they come first. The motto is,

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Watching the release of animals that were orphaned or injured and that would otherwise have died.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Have a full-time vet. Enlarge enclosures. Build facilities for visiting groups. Make it easier on the staff and volunteers.
