SAMSKRITA BHARATI

The volunteers and workers in this organization amaze me with their dedication, effort and above-all cheerfulness. Reviving samskritam is indeed a task of humungous importance to Indians in particular and people of the world in general. The language is at the core of dhArmic (hindu/ buddhist/ jain) civilizations.

This is a wonderful organization that supports and promotes learning sanskrit -- the mother of all Indian languages, ancestor of a variety of european languages - http://mutiny.wordpress.com/2007/02/09/sanskrit-mother-of-european-languages-says-prof-dean-brown/ the organization is supported and run by a large group of volunteers spread across the world, esp. in India and USA. SB conducts a variety of sanskrit learning programs taught by volunteers, with a single goal of spreading the speak-sanskrit movement and goodwill. I myself started learning sanskrit starting a year back through SB - motivated by the selfless efforts of SB volunteers, I have started volunteering myself, whenever I can, whichever way I could.

A School in England teaches Sanskrit in their curriculum and their primary motivation is that Sanskrit (words and pronunciation) accelerates the mental growth in children. This organization holds the key to make Sanskrit available to all, across the world

Very well run organization to teach Sanskrit. Even though I live in the USA, I am able to learn Sanskrit and understand Indian scriptures relatively easily. The material is well organized and the teachers are extremely motivated.

I am learning sanskrit from this organization and the folks are doing a great job. Not only, I can converse in Sanskrit reasonably fluently, I can also read Sanskrit literature on my own without looking at translations or commentary. Great job.

I started learning Samskritam through Samskrita Bharati and they did a really excellent job. Their method of teaching is wonderful, emphasizing spoken samskritam rather than an emphasis on the grammatical aspects. The language is also thought using our scriptures as an example - thus learn samskritam using Bhagavada Gita and in turn, learn Gita using samskritam. SB has an online bookstore that contains a lot of books regarding the samskritam language, our Indian way of life and the pride of being Indian. These books are useful for any level of learner - from the casual learner of the language to a person wanting to be an expert in the samskritam language and Indian culture. These books can be ordered online and will be delivered anywhere in the world. Through my interaction with Samskrita Bharati I have a better understanding of our culture and history. SB also does a lot of work within India to promote samskritam as a spoken language and as a way of life. It takes very little for each of us to understand our culture and history and there is no better way to do this than through an organization whose sole purpose is to help in that goal.
