Saint Francis Wolf Sanctuary

Rating: 5 stars   2 reviews

Issues: Animals

Location: P.O. Box 877 Montgomery TX 77356 USA

Mission: Saint Francis Wolf Sanctuary is dedicated to the care of rescued, non-releasable wolves and wolfdogs. We do not buy, sell, or breed them. We believe they deserve a stable home for the rest of their natural lives, with an abundance of loving and compassionate care. We also support educating the public about issues involving wolves and wolfdogs, and dispelling the many myths that surround these frequently misunderstood animals. We welcome community organizations, groups, and individuals who wish to visit and learn the truth about wolves and wolfdogs, and why these are rarely suitable companion animals.
Results: We have directly rescued and provided loving, lifelong homes to 24 animals--many of them saved from situations of extreme abuse or neglect--and have saved many more through our networking and conversations with owners, shelters, and Animal Control agencies. We have also educated tens of thousands of visitors from all over the world about wolves and wolfdogs.
Target demographics: Anyone who wants to learn about wolves and wolfdogs!
Direct beneficiaries per year: 15 resident animals and thousands of visitors
Geographic areas served: Animals rescued from throughout the U.S. Visitors welcomed from around the world.
Programs: Animal Care: provide our animals with exceptional care, including healthy, nutritious meals, quality, regular vet care, enrichment, shelter, and companionship. Education: through guided tours, visits from ambassador wolfdogs, off-site presentations, educate the public about wolves, wolfdogs, conservation issues, and the downsides of exotic pets.

I have been volunteering at St. Francis for two years now and I Love it there!! The wolves are the most amazing spirits and I have met so many wonderful people there!! Ms. Jean has infinate knowledge and stories of her world travels. I have been blessed abundantly by the time I have spent there with the wolves and will continue to volunteer.
