My association with RSVP of Montgomery County over the past five years has been unbelievably fulfilling. I have served as a volunteer in the Volunteer Executive Consulting program, the Protege program, the revenue development committee and on the Board. The mission of RSVP is a challenging one, especially in light of today's tough economic environment. But the enthusiasm and conviction of the volunteers is not to be denied. The environment is contagious with positive atttitudes, can do mind sets, and excellent program and organizational leadership. I am proud to be a part of RSVP's strong and effective impact on the community.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

seeing the impact that the programs have had on the people in the community. Watching children progress in reading skills, hearing the grateful feedback from seniors, are but a few examples.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

develop more corporate partnerships to enable corporate citizens, the opportunity to share in the RSVP mission.

RSVP of Montco. provides literacy programs for pre-schoolers, elementary school students, and adults. These programs are designed to help improve the participants' reading skills both in school and at home with family. These programs are provided at "no charge" by RSVP. RSVP has provided Volunteer Impact Programs for residents and non-profit organizations throughout Montgomery County for thirty eight (38) years. It's an organization that certainly deserves your support.

For the past ten years my work with RSVP's Volunteer Executive Consuling program has been extremely rewarding. It has provided an opportunity for me to continue to utilize and sharpen my marketing and communication skills (my pre-retirement field), while at the same time providing numerous non-profits with management counsel to assist them in their marketing goals. In addition, the feedback we have received from the many marketing communications seminars I have conducted has been gratifyingly positive.

I also participated in RSVP's mentoring program (Protege) for two years, working with a young man and developing a meaningful and constructive relationship which helped us both to grow.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

working closely with a talented, effective group of RSVP staff and volunteers, whose selfless efforts and dedication are second to none

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

wave a magic wand so that funding would become available to permit the organization to devote the time and resources necessary to realize maximum effectiveness of its many valuable programs and initiatives.
