This is the most amazing place and the animals are so happy. You can see the transformation in animals from the time they come in from horrific situations to knowing they are no longer going to be abused. If you are an animal person you know when you see a happy animal, and these animals are very happy! The staff uses the volunteers wisely, we are on a rotation so all of us learn the inner workings of what it takes to take care of these wonderful animals. There is always something to do, and everything we do is purposeful, from helping prepare meals, feeding, cleaning, watering, talking to the public, doing upkeep, etc. It is amazing how much work it takes to take care of these animals and this is the most satifying experience I have ever had in my life! I go away happy, knowing I helped make a difference in the lives of these animals!

I visited the Wild Animal Sanctuary twice this year. The first time was out of curiosity. I was thrilled to see how well the animals are kept and how clean the habitats were. I talked about this trip to some friends and as one friend was already a donor, we decided to go to one of the fund raisers in the Lion Biosphere in August. My heart was stolen by the stories of the roadside lions and now I have adopted one of them. This past Sunday was St Francis Day and many people brought their animals to various churches to be blessed. As my dogs were getting their blessing, I thought how nice it would be next year to have a celebration and blessing of the wild animals for they are truly blessed by the great love and freedom the Sanctuary affords them.

The Wild Animal Sanctuary is an incredible place. Pat Craig has dedicated his life to saving large animals from horrible situations. Along with him is a staff of tireless volunteers who help him educate the public to the very real, dangerous and cruel trade of captive wild animals as pets. If my husband and I lived in Colorado we both would be volunteering in some capacity every month. But since we live in California, we compensate by donating on a monthly basis. I encourage everyone who reads this to consider doing the same thing. If 10,000 people donated $5.00 a month it would only cost you $60.00 a year! And generate $50,000 for the sanctuary. Our donation is automatically sent from our checking account. And just for the record, we donate $25.00 a month. That's how much we care about the work Pat is doing to save these magnificent animals.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

We visit the sanctuary as often as we can.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I would add guided tours where the visitors could learn the names of the animals and their rescue story, instead of handing the visitors a notebook. I would also redesign the notebook.

I wasn't aware the Sanctuary existed until a friend told me about it. We went out for the fundraiser and I was amazed at everything there. The animals are clean and look content. Everyone is friendly, helpful and knowledgable. We saw the Bolivian lions and it was amazing how well kept they are. To be able to look out over all the habitats and watch the animals living a peaceful life was wonderful. Pat and his staff are doing great work and their dedication to the animals is a joy to see.

My husband and I love the work that is going on at Rocky Mountain Wildlife, To beable to see these animals have a forever home knowing that no one will ever hurt them again is just one of the greatest gifts. To also know that there are people out there like Pat and his team working every day giving one hundred and ten percent of them selfs is just beyond anything I have ever seen. Thank you all and please keep up the work.

The Wild Animal Sanctuary is an extraordinary place. Pat Craig's team make you feel so welcome as soon as you enter, and really give you the chance to both learn about and respect the animals and their habitats. I love bringing all 3 of my little girls out there, and my oldest is starting to know some of the animals by name!

I first heard about Wild Animal Sanctuary on the TV show Animal Planet.
I was touched by the love and care Pat Craig and his family and co-workers have for the abused and mistreated large animals.
Since these lions, tigers, bears and wolves can't be rescued by individuals, we must help the
Wild Animal Sanctuary, through generous donations, do what they know best! Their sanctuary is a haven for wild animals to live in their natural environment.
They are open year round for visits!

I first learned about the Wild Animal Sanctuary by watching a story about Eddie the black leopard on Animal Planet. Eddie showed up rather unexpectedly since it wasn't known that his mother was pregnant. His parents were very afraid and apparently had been abused and it was feared that they might harm Eddie so he was removed and hand raised. I adopted Eddie and began receiving regular updates from him telling me about the things he liked to eat and his activities. The notes were signed by Eddie and I felt like he was indeed talking to me. I was truly amazed as I watched this Sanctuary grow. Pat Craig is a genius at running the Sanctuary and it was interesting seeing his wife, two boys, and the family's two bulldogs as they lived in a small trailer in the beginning. The programs are created to not only raise money, but to bring the animals and public in close proximity to one another which is truly an experience. Who ever heard of building a mile long walkway? The programs to educate people that these large animals are not pets and to expose the cruilty which is imposed on them for the intertainment of people is so very important. I am hoping that more restrictive laws will be passed in the various states to prevent people from keeping these beautiful animals. And that goes for hunt clubs also. When will the public wake up and say enough is enough. I'm so very happy that Mr. Craig has inlisted organizations, groups, clubs, etc. to make this Sanctuary the success that it is and I am so amazed at the growth and success of this place. Most of all, I'm glad to be a part of the regular, monthly funding. Pat Craig is so personable and will make time for people and has even emailed me if I have a question or sent something interesting to him. Success has not gone to his head; he's the same person he was from the very beginning. He is so talented and gifted and able to communicate so well. I will continue to support this organization as much as I am able. It is truly amazing to see what has been done in such a short time. May God bless this wonderful charity.

Through continual updates, I learn what is being done and what new animals have been rescued. Hopefully, next year I will be able to make the trip to Colorado and have the "experience" of a lifetime. Whenever I've needed information for tax purposes, I've phoned the organization and am always speedily given the information I requested. The leadership of this Sanctuary leads by example and is very detail oriented.

I honestly can't think of anything that would improve the organization. However, with it being so large, I wonder how they would deal with the destructive force of a flood or tornado. I seem to remember one year when they had problems with the weather.
