I have visited the center twice and plan to return at least 2-3 times a year. The place is magical. It is clean and well taken care of. It is amazing to walk above the large cats. It takes my breath away to look out into the large meadows and see lions and tigers and bears (oh my!) wandering freely, or to watch the tigers swimming in the large pool. The animals appear well cared for, happy, and stress free. I think they know they have found their final home, a safe place to live out their lives. The staff are all knowledgeble and friendly. My last trip I stayed till dusk, and to hear the roar of the lions and wolves howling gave me goose bumps. It is obvious that Pat and all the volunteers love what they do and are committed to giving these animals a wonderful life, rescuing many from the brink of death.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the level of love and care everyone has for the animals. Each animal has a name and it's story is told, they are individuals.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

friendly, knowledgable, dedicated.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Enlarge, take in more animals, create a larger raised walkway to enable visitors to see more animal habitat.

Ways to make it better...

I could actually interact with the animals, but that is not the purpose of the organization, and they stay very true to the concept that the center is first and formost for the comfort and safety of the critters.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Money! In this tight economy people just don't have the money to give.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I applaud Pat and all the volunteers for staying true to the vision and keeping the center running smoothly.

There is nothing like this refuge for rescued exotic animals. The Wild Animal Sanctuary has been my favorite charity ever since I first heard about their work. It's inspiring and saving the lives of abused animals in ways that make an amazing difference.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

helping animals in ways that no other organization can. They have the experience, passion and acreage to give abused exotic animals the lives they were meant to live.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

give them more volunteers to do the work that has the Director working 16 hour days 7 days a week.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

their work attracted me to reach out and help them. After visiting the sanctuary the first time I was compelled to give a monthly donation and to figure out how my skills could help them.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

knowledgeable, passionate and loving their work.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Buy more land to tend more animals. This would save countless lives of animals currently suffering needlessly.

Ways to make it better...

I had know about their work sooner.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

expanding the amount of land they have. Because they are a sanctuary, the animals need plenty of room to roam.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I have supported and worked for many organizations in my lifetime. Pat is amazing in how he has built and managed a non-profit organization so solidly. As impressed as I am with the sanctuary itself, I am even more impressed with how well it is operated

I was part of a group that took a tour of the Center in the summer of 2009. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the facility when you consider the number and types of animals that are housed there. We were greeted warmly, and any and all questions were answered openly. I was most impressed with the fact that both the loins and the wolves put on a "howl" just about sundown. Although this is normal habit in the wild, this is not common in captivity. This is ample proof that the animals are not only well treated, but truly feel "at home" in the Sanctuary.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

friendliness of their volunteers and the openness of their presentations and answers. Their gift shop was also well laid out with unique gifts that were specific to the site only.

dedicated and hard working.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

hopefully acquire more acreage so it could expand and handle more animals. There is a need for this form of sanctuary that is in limited supply within our country, and around the world.

The staff goes out of their way to explain the wonders of the animals they have saved. They have films and overhead ramps where you can see first hand the animals in their natural habitat. Their dedication is an inspiration to all who visit the sanctuary .

This place is absolutely the finest. I first came in contact with it when I saw the story about "Eddy, the black leopard" which they hand raised. When I went to Colorado to vist my son, I drove all the way to this sanctuary to see the animals. They save animals from torture, where they may have been in tiny cages, or malnourished, or cold, just to name a few reasons. They give these animals a new lease on life. You can see how happy and content the animals are at this center.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Have them bring in more animals. There is nothing negative about this place.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

They make the animals so content after they have been tortured.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Exceptionally nice and caring to the animals.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Save more animals and possible take over more land.

Ways to make it better...

I could have been closer to the animals but believe me, I understand why I wasn't able.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Money, money, money

One thing I'd also say is that...

I appreiciate everything they are doing.

We have visited this site with our two grandsons. It is a place for teaching the next generation about wildlife, conservation, and the value of volunteering.

This is truely a wonderful place to experience, after one visit you will never forget it...and once won't be enough. The care and the love you will find at the Sanctuary for abused animals is incredible. You don't just "see" animals here, you experience them, you learn. The stories of the beautiful creatures here, the extent of the work that Pat Craig and his staff will go through to bring them to safety and give them back their quality of life is incredible. I live too far to volunteer here,so I volunteer at a cat shelter near me. A visit to the Sanctuary will change how you think forever.

This sanctuary is SO important to wildlife rescue. Without Pat's dedication and his outstanding team of employees and volunteers, we would not have a safe place for these abused animals. My family and I participate in the adoption program - we are lifetime "adopters". The care, respect and compassion given to EACH animal at the sanctuary is above and beyond anything we have ever observed. This is their safe haven. Anyone who offers help - in any form - to this organzation is an angel!

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

making a diffence by participating in the adoption program.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

not change anything - Pat has it all under control. However, volunteers are always welcome!

More feedback...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

knowing each animal is loved and cared for with great compassion, yet respected as a wild animal - not a trained show animal.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

outstanding care providers, outstanding people, outstanding in every way!

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

I don't know - ask Pat. I'm sure he has a dream that money could fund for the animals.

Ways to make it better...

I had worn a hat - it can get pretty windy out there!

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

increased private funding to continue the rescue of animals. There are more animals than funds at this time.

One thing I'd also say is that...

donating to this organization does more than change the lives of rescued animals. Pat also strives to educate the public as well.

I first visited The Wild Animal Sanctuary in July 2009. When I first arrived I was hooked. It was a hot day and watching the tigers play in the water, some looked like they were lounging in hot tubs, made me smile and laugh. Then reading and hearing their stories my heart went out to them. I decided right then that I wanted to volunteer my time to help out these amazing animals and the staff with all the hard work they do. I started volunteering in Sept of 09 and have been out there every week since. It has been a life changing experience. I have been able to look in the eyes of these animals and I am amazed at the looks of love they give in return. It makes every day worth it when you get a thank you from the animals. TWAS have become a very specail place to me and has stolen a piece of my heart. It has even captured my families attention and can not think of a better place to be a part of. It is truely a place that is like no other and have recommended it to many many people! I can not wait to see what the future holds but i know if Pat has any hand in it the looks bright for everyone at TWAS! THANK YOU Pat and Staff!

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

change many lives!

Ways to make it better...

I had remember sunscreen.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Money, money and people wanting tigers and such as pets.

One thing I'd also say is that...

the cats sleep alot so sometimes all you get to see are cats sleeping. But as any animal owner knows is what animals do most of the time.

Wonderful animal sanctuary. Their care & concern for the animals is outstanding. While they let the public view the large animals, it is clear that the design of the center is to offer the lions, tigers, bears, etc. the most comfort and natural settings. If you are a large animal advocate, I can't think of a better non-profit to donate your money to!

The Great!
