The Wild Animal Sanctuary is an amazing place to visit. Happy animals who were saved from awful conditions. Bless those that volunteer and work here and the effort they put into this noble cause.

We visited the wildlife sanctuary today for the first time. It has been on the to do list for awhile now and I'm only sorry we haven't made this a regular part of our "things to do" list on a regular basis. The cause is noble of course but when you see the animals so content and at home at the sanctuary and you read their histories, the noble cause becomes a part of you. We will continue to support the animals and this special place with regular visits.

We loved our visit to the Wild Animal Sanctuary here in Colorado. It was a very educational and inspirational visit. We plan to support them and spread the word as much as possible.

This is an inspirational organization dedicated to animal welfare and "human" animal education. It is the selfless devotion of Pat Craig and his family that makes this organization what it is.

I have had the pleasure of going to the Wild Animal Sanctuary (Rocky Mountain Wildlife Conservation) for many years. To see the incredible care and love that the entire staff provide these beautiful animals is awe-inspiring. It is awesome how the animals come first, not the humans. It is easy to know the concern when you see how the habitats are designed and "furnished" with activities that enrich and protect them. Each species needs and enrichment are individually designed as well as the "special needs" animals. One of my favorite stories was about a tiger in the round house facility. He had gotten old and unable to get into his water tank to play, so they got him a lower one, so he could still have his own hot tub. I watched him hanging out in it. That is what they deserve, to be able to live their lives in peace and in a beautiful setting. I am so glad to have had the honor of talking to Pat Craig and the other staff. They deserve all the accolades and support possible. Kathleen Eccles

Volunteering at TWAS has been, and continues to be, a wonderful experience. I signed up when I was new in town, as a way to get out of the house and meet people. And I have! So many wonderful, kind-hearted, animal lovers who care so much about these beautiful creatures who had rough starts in the world. It's a truly satisfying time, to spend time outdoors in beautiful Colorado doing hard work, dirty work, smelly work, going home so tired sometimes I can barely stay awake past 830... but knowing what a difference it makes. I'm so grateful to be part of an organization like TWAS. It feeds my soul to see everyone working together to make the world a better place!

I had visited the Wild Animal Sanctuary a few times over the past couple of years, and worked there as an intern this winter. It is truly an amazing place -the animals are provided with a high-quality life in stark contrast to the lives they lived before. This organization provides great care for around 300 animals -proper nutrition and medication, enrichment, housing and more. The staff and volunteers are hard-working, great people. As an intern, I saw the dedication and huge effort TWAS puts into its animals. As a visitor, I became aware of the captive wildlife crisis. The experience of visiting TWAS is life-changing; people really care and are touched by both the animals and the people involved.

I went there on my birthday, and when I mentioned that to Pat, he asked a volunteer to take us to the new lion enclosure, which wasn't open that day! It wasn't the first time I had been there and I will keep going and taking friends to see this wonderful sanctuary. You can see how content and well-cared for these animals are. The rescue stories are wonderful and heart-wrenching. Thank you, Pat, for caring about, and for, these beautiful animals.

I worked with this organization in 2009 and it was a wonderful experience. I learned so much about exotic creatures and turned it into a hobby, doing tons of research on the side. I also learned that there is hope for animals in this situation. They take exotic creatures that have been bred and sold to the public. People will keep these animals in their backyards, garages, and breed them for private shows. There is an overpopulation of exotics and nowhere for many to go. The Wild Animal Sanctuary is a place that creates hope for these amazing beautiful animals. They make habitats that are natural and give privacy for them. Since these animals can no longer go back into the wild, this is the next best thing for them. The Wild Animal Sanctuary also educates the public on the Captive Wild Animal Crisis. So that many can learn why they shouldn't obtain these animals or support the ones that do. We all need to recognize all the hope, and happiness this Sanctuary brings. They do a wonderful job for this country.

The Wild Animal Sanctuary is a leader in educating the public on what animal welfare truely looks like. It's honest in the way it shows visitors the reality of what having wild animals in captivity means for the rest of the animal's life. They keep a beautiful and safe facility that doesn't hide the amount of effort it takes to run it which is itself an educaton tool.
