Mission: Maintenance of the San Joaquin River watershed by working with public land owners, educational groups and individual volunteers, on public lands to educate the public on environmental issues concerning the San Joaquin River watershed.
Results: Last year we gave (2010) we gave over 1,300 free canoe rides on the San Joaquin River, removed approximately 32 tons of trash and debris, and planted more than 600 native riparian plants and trees.
Target demographics: We target those of all ages and demographics who have not been exposed to the San Joaquin River.
Direct beneficiaries per year: Any one who obtains drinking water in the Fresno area. Plants and animals along the river corridor.
Programs: Restoration projects at River Vista and Ledger Island. San Joaquin River canoe trips, usually 8.5 miles.
