Issues: Homeless & Housing
Location: PO Box 2216 Riverside CA 92516 USA
Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit, interfaith ministry, works in partnership with people in need to improve their poor living conditions. Habitat challenges people of compassion to provide initial capital, through gifts and low interest loans, to build or renovate simple, decent homes for the inadequately sheltered.
Construction is a cooperative venture between volunteers and homebuyers. Habitat partner families contribute 500 hours of “sweat equity” towards the building of their home as well as the homes of others.
Habitat houses are sold for no profit, with a non-interest mortgage, repaid over a 30 to 45 year period. House payments are recycled to build more homes for those in need.
Target demographics: hard working families buy a safe, affordable place to live.
Direct beneficiaries per year: over 85 families by connecting them with over 10,000 volunteers
Geographic areas served: Riverside, Moreno Valley, Corona and Jurupa Valley
Programs: Home Ownership, Critical Home Repair and Minor Exterior Repair

We recently attended the meeting to pick out our addresses for the homes in Moreno Valley that will be going up soon. As always we felt welcomed by all of the staff. My children and I are very thankful for the program Habitat for Humanity Riverside has to offer us. Because of them we are able to purchase a home that is affordable. We are very excited about this opportunity. Thank you Habitat for Humanity Riverside for all that you do to make a difference in our community. Because of you we will now be able to call a place that is safe and affordable our home.
