To preserve and enhance land along the Trinity River and its tributaries as an extraordinary educational, recreational and natural resource.


The RLF is a unique public/private partnership with the City of Arlington. * The Foundation has assisted in providing amenities within the River Legacy Park, including walking and biking trails, pavillions, playgrounds, and an award-winning community education facility - The Living Science Center. It is estimated that more than 100,000 people use River Legacy Park each year.* Foundation sponsored community events include Migratory Bird Day, Project Wet, After Dark in the Park, and the Cardboard Boat Regatta.* The Foundation serves more than 25,000 children, PreK-12th grade, and adults annually. Based at the Living Science Center, education programs include:Young ScientistsJunior Naturalist ClubSummer Nature SchoolNature SchoolScout ProgramsField InvestigationsNature WalksProfessional Development Workshops for EducatorsDistance Learning for rural school districts
