RedRover, formerly United Animal Nations (UAN), focuses on bringing animals out of crisis and strengthening the bond between people and animals through a variety of programs, including emergency sheltering, disaster relief services, financial assistance and education.
animals in crisis
Direct beneficiaries per year:
nearly 2,000 animals in crisis. In 2013, we deployed RedRover Responders volunteers to help more than 1,300 animals, including those affected by the tornadoes in Moore, Oklahoma. In 2013, we also helped save the lives of more than 650 animals by awarding financial grants to help Good Samaritans, pet owners, animal rescuers and victims of domestic violence care for animals in life-threatening situations
Geographic areas served:
U.S. and Canada
Through RedRover Responders, we shelter and care for animals displaced by natural disasters and other crises, such as criminal seizures and hoarding cases. The RedRover Relief program provides funding to Good Samaritans, animal rescuers, pet owners and victims of domestic violence to help them care for animals in life-threatening situations. The RedRover Readers program helps children explore the bond between people and animals through stories and discussion. Volunteers visit elementary school classrooms, after-school programs, animal shelters and other venues to read to children and lead discussions -- helping children develop critical thinking skills and empathy.

RedRover is the best! I can’t thank you enough for helping with Tequila. I was broke from my animals & their health issues when I agreed to care for Tequila. See, Tequila’s former owner fell extremely ill & was put in a nursing home & could no longer care for her. I just couldn’t stand the thought of her going to a shelter. After caring for Tequila for a couple of months, are old neighbors came to visit & they just fell in love with her. See Denise & Lisa (the old neighbors) don’t have much money either, but they have lots of love to give & a wonderful home to share. Upon, taking her to the vet, the outcome wasn’t good. Tequila wasn’t spayed and on top of that, she had heart worms. That’s when I decided to reach out to RedRover. If it wasn’t for RedRover, well I don’t know what would have happened. All I know is that Tequila is on her way to a happy & healthy life. Thank you so much! And, one day I hope to repay the favor to RedRover.
Redrover is the Best!!! Thank you so much RedRover for you generosity. My Kitty Puma will be going in for surgery tomorrow thanks to your quick response to our request for finacial assistance. My family and I are overjoyed with happiness knowing Puma will get the surgery she needs for her injury. I can not thank you enough!! We are forever grateful to you all. God bless this organization for all they do for our beloved pets! Sincerely Laura Etuk and family
RedRover staff was very caring and helpful to my dog Princess. With out the help from RedRover Princess would not have had her surgery. Princess had a large cyst removed off her face and she is getting stronger every day. I would like to thank the staff at Red Rover and the donors.

After finding out that my yorkie, Cash needed to have emergency surgery I was completely devastated. I had no idea how I would be able to afford such a costly procedure in such a short span of time considering a lot of other life circumstances that had all reared their ugly heads at the same time. Cash means everything to me and I knew I had to do SOMETHING. I created a GoFundMe page to no avail, not a single dollar donated. Then, for the sake of trying I did a Google search for pet assistance. I found many organizations that offer veterinary care assistance, I applied to many organizations, too. None compared to the readiness and level of care shown to me by Red Rover. Before I could cause myself anymore stress, Red Rover offered me a solution far beyond my expectations. They were there to help me in my time of desperate need and I and my pet Cash will forever be grateful that our time together will not be cut short. I am truly blessed to have found an organization with such a high level of professionalism, compassion and willingness to provide when we needed it the most.
Bless this organization!

My beautiful baby Blaze was recently bit by a copperhead at our home. I rushed her to the vet as she was not responding well. The antivenin alone was astronomical. I was scared I would not be able to afford the treatment that my baby desperately needed. I was pointed to Red Rover. I filled out the grant paper and someone immediately called me. They were friendly and helpful. They helped me get Blaze the life saving treatment she needed. Because of Red Rover Blaze is on the mend, and will make a full recovery. Thanks Red Rover, for everything. All our Love Barb and Blaze

Hi my name is Angie my dog AJ was attacked by another dog and needed surgery badly..I emailed RedRover the night it happened and they called me the next morning wanting to help. I was overcome with emotion and couldn't believe they were going to help. They are in my opinion the best Nonprofit ever! They donated enough money to get his operation scheduled and even coordinated with the veterinary hospital to get him set up for surgery. With out RedRover's help AJ would have never been able to be healed and because of my financial situation I was considering having him put to sleep. Thank You RedRover for saving my best friend AJ and because of you his gentile beautiful soul will live on for many years to come!!! Thank You you all are the best!!

I could not believe how fast RedRover came to my ten year old, Chihuahua/Pomeranian, named Morgan's rescue. I volunteered to be Morgan's foster with my rescue. After she was surrendered to me I noticed how much anxiety she had from her previous situation. I told my rescue owner Morgan would not do well loosing another home. She said I could keep Morgan but she could not help with any vet bills. I found a certificate for a free exam and found out Morgan never had her teeth brushed or dental care and her teeth were really bad. Small dogs don't have very much bone in their mouth so the infection and disease gets into their blood and causes bone cancer. I have been threw a tough time with my health and have not worked for two years. I am so great full to RedRover for coming to Morgan's rescue and will do I everything I can to help RedRover in the future.

I am and will be forever grateful for Red Rover's assistance in making sure that my two dogs, Hachiko and Snow were also in a safe place as I was. The staff at West Ridge Animal Hospital provided Hachiko and Snow with compassion, kindness and love. I appreciate all that they did for my dogs. What s blessing!
I would have been devastated if I had to surrender Hachiko and Snow to the animal shelter. These two are my best friends and companions for a lifetime.
Currently, Hachiko and Snow are in the care of an angel in the form of a
canine boarding kennel owner free of charge for two weeks from 8-9-to 23, 2016. My heart is full of gratitude for this kind wonderful kennel owner.
I am praying that I will find a place who will accept Hachiko and Snow on or before the 23rd of August.
Thank you Red Rover! Thank you Rachel! Photos courtesy of Hachiko and Snow's kennel mom
Snow is 14 years and three months fighting terminal liver cancer, Hachi is about 12 months Golden and Border Collie x

When my 7-year-old child (cat) Milo developed bladder stones I was concerned about how I would be able to afford the surgery he needed to get well. Since he was 6-weeks-old Milo and I have been inseparable, and even though I live alone I jokingly refer to him and the dog as my roommates. Milo is my rock and the best cuddle bunny a girl could ask for. He's been with me through so many ups and downs, and it would devastate me if something bad happened to him.
While researching options for low-cost veterinarians I came across the Red Rover site. Not only did they respond to my application immediately, they kept up communication even when they didn't receive a response due to my phone not working. Laurel was kind and helpful and even gave me a bunch of great information to help keep Milo healthy in the future. They were able to provide the funds necessary to help get Milo the surgery that he needs and I couldn't be more grateful to them.
If there was ever a charity that deserved your donation, this is the one!

Don't hesitate to give big to RedRover. This is NOT an organization with invisible staff who aren't available to talk to you. The staff at RedRover know the pet care industry well and make things truly about what's best for your pet. They were able to help our beloved Papi (Gabriel) get the surgery he needed right on time . I applied as soon as we got our first estimate and we had already spent a significant amount of money. RedRover even helped us find a vet that gave a much more reasonable estimate.
Papi is a beloved family member and it would have been too much for me to lose him just because I'm in job transition, especially when his condition is completely treatable. Our family's also been through a lot in the past few years. We are all grateful for RedRover's help!!
The staff at RedRover are organized and are great stewards of financial resources. If you can only trust one animal advocate non-profit to give to at this time, you can confidently give to RedRover and know they will use the money wisely with a wide reach. Give big and it will impact many lives. Give bigger than last time and the many lives you impact can create a second wave of givers because you're giving to both people and pets.
Whether you're thinking of applying for assistance or thinking of donating, just do it! :)
