My 13 year old Kitty Trouble has stomatitis so bad he can't even eat watered down baby food. I contacted RedRover for assistance helping pay for it....They have been wonderful with a $200. grant and my baby goes tomorrow to the vet. It's so wonderful and it only took a few days. Marvellous group.
When illness hits our four legged kids, it can be horrible. This happened recently to my sweetheart Pomeranian Charlie. I literally could not sleep, eat or function because he was diagnosed with pancreatitis. The money to have him cared for by the vet was so immense. I didn't know where to turn. I came across RedRover and what a blessing this organization has been! I thought, this is a shot in the dark. I filled out the forms online and the next day I received a phone call from them. Laurel was the angel who I spoke with on the phone. She was kind, empathetic and sincerely wanted to help. She(RedRover) worked with my vet and I was given some financial aid in this crisis. Because of this wonderful organization, my little guy got the help he needed. God used Laurel to discern when and how to help us and it is something I will never forget. Thank you RedRover for being a light in a dark time. This is an organization that I will tell many to support because it gives hope to those of us that need it!
RedRover is giving 4pets a grant for buddy, buddy needs dental work asap, thank you RedRover for helping Buddy, and me, thank you very very much,
We noticed that our 12 year old cat began urinating all over the house and making weird noises. He's a male; he's not pregnant! What the heck is going on? Did some research and he seemed to have the symptoms described of a UTI. Bought him some o-t-c holistic meds with the hopes of seeing improvements. He's a laid-back, social little guy! But, hiding under the bed and seeing him lay at his water bowl convinced us to take him to Overland Pet Vet then immediately to Access LA. Our cuddly companion was suffering from an enlarged bladder due to stones not being able to release. While Access has great staff and service, the bill can get quite expensive, especially considering this was an "out-of-the-blue" situation. Our baby is very agile and has always displayed health, surprising the vet every time we took him for check-ups. He's an older cat and has so much life. Well, we found out that he needed a PU Surgery or we'd need to euthanize him if you can't pay the fee. We'd already paid $3500 to Access and they wanted another $5000! WHAT?! (Wow...money is more valuable than a life - no matter it is an animal). Really baffled me how people's thought processes are. We took a few deep breaths and silent moments to align ourselves and the answer came! Let's search for people who donate for situations like this. RedRover was amongst one of the many reach-outs. Through another giver, we found Huntington Pet Vet, took our little guy there for the PU Surgery at a much inexpensive price with good care. And, WAH-LAH! Our donations flooded in - RedRover being one of those donations. Thank you, RedRover for your giving hearts. Our guy is back to health with his vital energy being expressed!
Thank you Red Rover for helping with finances for my Charli Angel and her dental surgery! She is so much happier and now eats everything now that her gums and teeth do not hurt! She's even gained some weight! I've included some pics! The first pic is when she returned home from surgery. She was in pain and still groggy from the medicine. But now she's happy and healthy! And enjoys doing yoga with her mama! Thank you! Red Rover!
Hello, This is Shilo's story. A precious four months old Chihuahua. She was in need for emergency surgeries; fortunately RedReover was able to help to insure she got the care she was required to have in order to stay alive. I requested for financial aid from them and they were polite and understanding. Great Relief Foundation. Response time was quick. Application is simple. Special Thanks to RedRover Relief Urgent Care Foundation.
My cat and best friend, Greysen, had been missing for several days when I went out before bed to call him one last time. With my hope dwindling that he would ever return home, a very battered and starving Greysen climbed into my arms and was rushed to the local pet ER. After spending the night and going through extensive treatment, Greysen needed major surgery to repair his mouth so that he could eat and drink. His entire lower lip had been torn from his jaw with quite a bit of damage being done. The vet believes he was hit by a car. He underwent three hour surgery and I had no idea how to cover the expenses but would not let my friend down. Red Rover came through and helped save my cat's life. Jessica was so kind, attentive and supportive. She and Red Rover truly went above and beyond. She and Red Rover went out of their way to make sure they could assist with funding and I am ever so grateful to this foundation. No one ever expects to be in a situation that requires money to become a hindrance to help rather than a tool to receive it, but I am glad to know places like Red Rover exist for unfortunate situations such as these. I cannot say enough good things about this foundation but I hope it is around for years to come to help other families and their animal friends. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
This is such an amazing organization! Many years ago I ran my own non-profit and I know about all the work it takes to run a successful animal rescue, lot's and lot's of hard work.
Red Rover really went above and beyond the call of duty to help me, my daughter and her dog Riddick. What really impressed me was it was not just financial help, one of their workers, Laurel, was very supportive emotionally. She was so genuine and really cared about my situation. It was an extremely emotional time for me. My daughter was traveling across country to come home for the first time in 8 years. Taking turns driving, she pulled over to switch driving with her boyfriend, their dog Riddick was in the back seat. Someone looking at their phone instead of the road, plowed into them doing 70 mph! My daughter and her boyfriend were both life-flighted to a hospital in another state and their dog Riddick was kindly and lovingly picked up by a wonderful veterinarian and taken to her clinic. Riddick was shoved from the back seat with such force that he hit the dashboard and dislocated his hip. He had to have the head of his femur surgically removed. Without Red Rover we could not have had this done. And it wasn't over. Next came the almost impossible task of trying to get Riddick from Kansas to me in Oregon. Because of ignorance about his breed we though it was not going to be possible to get him here.
Even much longer story short....Laurel and a kind lady in Colorado made it happen! Riddick and my daughter finally made it home and just in time for Christmas!!! Riddick now lives with me and has healed 100%. He has completely stolen my heart and brings me so much joy!!! I love this handsome boy so much!!! THANK YOU RED ROVER!!!!
I am a retired vet. tech./rescue person, I ran a non-profit animal rescue for most of my adult life, in fact I started when I was 17yrs. with a degree in animal sciences. Many of those years my rescue was the only help for animals in an entire county.....no animal control, no shelters, just me, my daughter and a small handful of volunteers. The reason I am mentioning this is because I really know what it takes to run a non-profit for animals, the heart and soul, the heartbreaks and joy, and of course endless hours of commitment.
Recently I found myself being the one that needed help. My daughter was in a horrible car accident, she and her fiance were life-flighted to a hospital in another state. Her child (a k-9 named Riddick) was also in the car. His survival is an amazing journey. The short of it is....he was picked up from the scene of the accident by an amazing veterinarian and taken to her clinic. Everyone was shocked he even lived because he was in the back seat which was crushed all the way against the front seats. His hip was dislocated and he was in need of surgery to remove the head of his femur.
This was a very traumatic time for all involved. We were all in different states, and I have agoraphobia, therefor do not travel at all. As my daughter was in the E.R. with a mangled arm headed to surgry, her fiance fighting for his life with traumatic brain injury, she called me in a panicky shock pleading for me to find Riddick.
I seriously do not know how I would have made it through all of that without Laurel from Redrover! She went above and beyond the call of duty, way beyond. She was my support system, she kept me calm and worked in such a positive and realistic manner. Riddick got the help he needed very quickly, and now is home with me and healing wonderfully from his traumatic ordeal. He is an amazing sweat, gentle boy and now is safe thanks to Redrover and Laurel!!! Thank you so much more than words can say!
An excellent caring staff that goes above and beyond by also providing empathy training along with its animal care resources. I got some precious extra time with my beloved 13-year-old chinchilla, Rainer, an age goal he would not have met without RedRover's caring and helpful staff. I wish them all the best and hope I may contribute back to such a wonderful organization someday.
From the ease of sending the first note, to the quick reply of the return email, to everything being clearly explained, in my fear of losing my little 12-year-old home-born pet chinchilla due to being deeply immersed in my own medical expenses, RedRover absolutely came to the rescue. Without that assistance there would be an empty cage in my home. Rainer needed dental care, and he got it through the good graces of RedRover. And learning more about the organization, wow, what great work they do! Empathy is a nice thing!
I can't say enough about RedRover and any other organization's that make it possible for victims to become survivors. Having to leave a pet makes it impossible for many people to leave. They have no family or friends who can or will take there pets for them. Perhaps they have no friends or family due to there relationship.
In many lives a person's pet is there only known or trusted companion. They cannot leave a pet who has helped them to survive and not go crazy...
Thanks so much to this organization and all volunteers and workers who are so kind to help. I Know as a survivor how much it means. Possibly the difference between life and death. Thank you all and Gods Speed!
