I am called upon several times a year to provide a service to all of the local events sponsored by Antelope Valley React C040. Like clock work this organization has been involved in most local events within the community and thensome. Their charitable contribution and dedication to there mission has been seen as examplary and I feel honored to assist in their efforts whenever asked upon.

As the owner of the Palmdale Pit Stop automotive fast lube center I have been a donor to Antelope Valley REACT for several years and enjoy working with them.I've sponsored their antique 1925 Moreland flat bed truck in events including the city of Actons 4th of july parade and the annual Palmdale Christmas parade where it has taken many awards over the years the latest being the top theme award for 2009. I admire the way they work together to make things happen. Their a real dedicated group of people and have been instrumental in helping with charitable events all over the Antelope Valley.I'm also one of the many two way radio enthueist in the Antelope Valley who talk regularly with Bill and Mary. We all keep our radio skills sharp this way so that in the event of an actual emergency we would be in close contact with one another to direct aid where it is most needed. Many of our members have four wheel drive vehicles to assist in helping people in difficult to reach areas. Any funding assistance that can be given to the Antelope Valley REACT Team would benifit the communities and charties they contribute to by two fold

The Great!

I am a member of the High Desert Cyclists bicycle club. We asked for help to put on our annual Fall Century bicycle ride. Much of the course winds through the Angeles National Forest on roads with minimal cell phone coverage. The Antelope Valley REACT volunteers were able to provide communication in remote areas which increased the safety and provided smooth operations for the event. Further they were helpful with rest stops, cheerful and a pleasure to work with. All of this effort was provided at no cost, which helps our small bicycling club. Our club provides an annual benefit ride for the local Special Olympics and will use the Antelope REACT folks again if they are available.

Antelope Valley React has been a key contrbutor to Thunder on the Lot for over seven years. This huge fundraiser has grown from a few hundred the first year to over 17,000 in attendance at our 15th annual event. AV React has helped us keep the event secure and works very well with the public. Quite frankly we depended on them many times in the past and they always came through. They are reliable, they have a very important presence and they are committed to what they do.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Do great things for the world in area's of giving back to support and aid all other fundraiser's.

Ways to make it better...

I found them sooner.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Utilization and recognition for what they do.

AV REACT has help us at our Big Rigs 4 Kids events in the Antelope Valley for several years with parking and crowd control. Their willingness to help all community organizations has been and is a great asset to everyone here in the Antelope Valley.

I am a CERT volunteer. I first learned about AV REACT C040 at an Eergency Peparedness Epo. I did not know about the free radio training they offered. I joined them to aid in their efforts with local community groups. America is great because of its volunteers. Here is a group of volunteers who make a difference and do it locally. I support their aims.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

meeting other volunteers who donate their time and money to local groups at community events or at Disaster Expos to discuss the free 2-way radio training they offer.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

all experienced radio operators who welcomed a new member with interest but no experience with radios.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

recruit new members, reach more community organizations and be more efficient as emergency responders.

A.v. React is a great asset for those of us who live in the Antelope Valley just knowing that there is an organization that can respond in the presence of a local disaster be it,Flood,Wild Fires or an Earthquake. This is a great relief to our family. We live in the rural area of the Antelope Valley and knowing that A.V.React would be there to respond to any kind of a disaster takes the worry off our minds. I look at it like this, The Sheriff Department and Fire Departments would of course first be dispatched to the most populated areas.Just knowing that A.V.React would be available to help myself and my neighbors in the rural areas of the Antelope Valley is a great feeling. "That in itself gives me peace of mind" It was my pleasure to be the celebrity guest for A.V.REACT at "Big Rigs 4 Kids" and "Thunder on the Lot" Signing autographs to raise money for the Chirlderns Charitys of the Antelope Valley Sincerely Erin Moran
