Mission: Our mission is to protect and regenerate tropical rainforests by working with the people of the forests to develop sustainable livelihoods that empower and respect both people and nature. We do this by working with communities to develop and market products made out of raw materials found only in the rainforest or by providing services that are unique to rainforest. By developing the market for these products, locally, elsewhere in Latin America, and in the U.S., sales of these goods and services give residents a financial stake in protecting their forests.

Target demographics: We partner and work with indigenous rainforest communities help them make a sustainable income that allows them to protect their forests and their way of life.

Joined the organization Feb 2016, been with since. It's a committed and vibrant tight knit group of wonderfully dedicated people that do amazing work and have accomplished some great things. They work with almost any person and their skill set to help them grow individually but to really impact their outreach. Most of us volunteers have very different backgrounds but RP has this amazing way of making you feel like you're a part of something special and you get to see your direct impact of what you do and the time you put into it. What honestly sealed the deal when trying to find an organization in Austin to volunteer for in my spare time was their so transparently honest commitment to their indisputably positive impact. RP has allowed me to explore a new avenue of interests and is helping me build experience in business consulting of which I had no previous experience, but they were willing to sit down and listen to all the ideas I had for them and took me in with an open an open mind and heart. Every single time I get together with people in this organization once or twice a week it just completely gives me a rush of inspiration which has carried over into the other parts of my life.

TL:DR Great people. Great work. Amazing impact on the lives of everyone it touches.

Currently, it is estimated that 90% of the world’s population is breathing bad air. Rainforests generate 20% of the world’s oxygen. Rainforest Partnership, an Austin based nonprofit, is endeavoring to preserve the rainforests by working with Latin American rainforest communities to help them develop sustainable means of earning an income that don’t involve destroying the rainforest. I have been volunteering with RP from its beginning because I believe that low overhead grassroots efforts like this are a way to help insure that one day we will all have clean air to breath.

What a stellar organization! I have worked with the Rainforest Partnership in a couple different capacities over the last 2 years and they have been among the very best to work with! The people at Rainforest Partnership put so much heart into what they do. Being a small organization, it is truly amazing to see what good can be accomplished with a few dedicated people and limited resources. They throw a wonderful Celebration Event each year too! I hope to see them thrive because they are one of the good ones.

Had the pleasure of working with this organization some a few years ago. They bring an innovative approach to a pressing problem facing our society.

The idea of working alongside communities within the forests seems like an obvious one after RP explains it, but it's a unique approach that brings amazing results.

Rainforest Partnership is a powerfully driven group of passionate conservationists that see the importance of saving tropical rainforests on both fronts- they work locally with people in rainforest communities to develop programs that encourage the people that live in and around these areas to protect the biodiversity and act as protectors of the forests. This model of working from the ground locally, outward is essential- but they also have an incredible presence on the international scale with creative initiatives that allow them to interact with people and communities that are interested in helping on a global level. They have educational initiatives to educate children and adults on matters of climate change and the importance of the ecological preservation of tropical rainforests and I see them continuing to make progress in the fight to save them. Not only does their work promote a healthy balance of our earth's ecosystems, but it does so by giving people opportunities that benefit the sustainability of one of our planet's most precious resources.

Volunteering with Rainforest Partnership was a wonderful experience. I discovered the organization while I was out of work a few years ago and was excited to find them in my community. I support their mission to work with rainforest communities to give a hand up and not a hand out enabling development of alternative means of sustainable income other than cutting down the rainforest. Volunteers ranged from all ages of students to retired persons with all matter of skills, so I was happy they were able to use my administrative skills. No matter how busy we were, there was always time to gather around the table and share a meal. I was so amazed and thrilled when with their help, the Sani Isla, Ecuador women and community were able to stand together against government and big oil companies to prevent prospecting and drilling on their land. One by one, we can make a difference.

I came across the Rainforest Partnership at an event in February and immediately fell in love with the way they conduct their projects on the ground. The blend international development with rainforest conservation in a beautiful, harmonious way that has led to great success on the ground. The office culture is one rich in community and team-work and I thoroughly enjoy each volunteer and staff member I work with. I have learned more about international development, environmental conservation, and nonprofit operations while working here in the past six months than I have in the past four years of college. I would recommend this organization to anyone seeking to volunteer, donate, or get involved in a worthy story.

I have been volunteering with RP for almost a year now. From the time I started I was welcomed, encouraged and engaged in RP's mission. I do web development and tech for Rainforest Partnership. The team is comprised of great, intelligent individuals who are all passionate about the cause and helpful to each other. I have always felt that my work is directly helping the team and the cause. The leadership is excellent and has created a culture of teamwork, efficiency, and continues to be as welcoming and wonderful as the day I started.

I LOVE volunteering for Rainforest Partnership.
I remember as a kid being so concerned about the rain forest. I once sent a series of pencil drawings to President Clinton, asking for him to help protect it. It is nice that I get to continue playing a roll in raising awareness of what we can do on a local level to protect this valuable resource. Rainforest Partnership is made up of very kind, very hardworking employees and volunteers. The events that I've worked have been fun for me and effective for the participants. I would recommend this volunteer opportunity to everyone.

I have been volunteering with Rainforest Partnership for close to two years in various roles from event coordinating, sponsor recruitment, donor relationships, general office remodeling, web content/layout development and more. The reason I have stayed with RP for so long and will continue to pledge my commitment is the integrity of their mission and fiscal responsibility beyond any other NPO I have volunteered with. I am confident that the money raised from RP is going directly towards tangibly assisting rainforest communities in need (and want) of positive change. The focus on the relationships that have been established with these sister communities is critical to their (and therefore 'our') successes in limiting deforestation.
