RAN is the undisputed expert at scaring companies into good behavior, negotiating with them about what good behavior is, and then staying on top of them to keep them good - punish them when they fall and rewarding them when they succeed. That is why Fortune called them The Mosquito in the Tent". They never give up and they hve saved millions of oacres of earth and thousands of people int eh process. they are the best!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Stopping Citibank from giving loans to forest destroying omapnies

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Not change a thing

More feedback...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

It is fearless - and effectives

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Activists, hard-headed negotiators, dedicated board members who put their bodies on the line with the staffs and volunteers

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Ways to make it better...

We could have raised more money

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

raising enough money to take on the coal companies getting enough activist volunteers growing beyond their SF base

One thing I'd also say is that...

They did a good job at fending off a vindeictive Congressional investigation

RAN is a fantastic organization. interned with them last Summer with the Rainforest Agribusiness Campaign. The staff there did everything they could to make me feel welcome, treated me with respect, and helped me to help them with their campaign against destructive agribusiness corporations ADM, Bunge, and Cargill. I helped organize a direct action organizing event where 2000 people all across the US and Canada went to their local supermarkets and placed stickers marked "product may contain rainforest destruction" on products containing palm oil. It was an amazing experience and I highly recommend RAN.

RAN is a terrific grass roots organization that truly focus all their effort into curbing greenhouse gas emissions and stopping the destruction of rainforests around the world. The only slightly negative thing I can say about them is that their devotion to the cause may make their internal organization a little haphazard. I've had my member info mixed up with others, and they actually are kind of slow in follow up for membership renewal.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the updates they send.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

get the internal aspects a little more organized.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

they are grassroots without seeming overly extremist.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

have more resources to influence a greater number of people.

Ways to make it better...

I didn't wonder when they'd be sending a membership renewal notice. It want to keep supporting the cause, but it's their responsibility, not mine.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

polluters have more money.

Hi, i am a horticulturist that loves our planet, i got involved saving eucalyptus trees planted by world war 11 diggers. The local council wanted to rip them out, it wasent much but they were saved, i made enemys of the council, as if i cared.Every little bit helps, the people that know about helping to save our rainforsets the better chance we have of saving them for us and future generations. politices and people should understood the damage they are causing you think they would stop. For me to be alone with nature and surrounded by its beauty is better than being with people, plants have there own way of communicating with us.Thankyou for trying to save our rainforstets so my children and theres can experiance the joy. char

RAN helped me organize a very effective protest. The organizers sent me free materials to use, they emailed me to check if I needed help, they helped me get media contacts, they helped me with tips on what to write in my petition, they helped me recruit people. It was a very positive experience for me and I could not have done it without the organizer's help.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

all the help I received from people who were working very far away from me.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

open, helpful, kind, respectful, knowledgeable, awesome.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

save the world.

Ways to make it better...

I had put more time into the organization process. I was really busy with school and other obligations, and I really regretted not spending more time recruiting people to the event, but I was still very pleased with the day!

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

polluters, skeptics, big oil, big coal, and a population that is largely uneducated

One thing I'd also say is that...

I really appreciate all the informational educational material on RAN's website. I have learned a lot about the environment, and ways to help save it on their website!

I have been involved with Rainforest Action Network for 17 years now. They are responsive to both their members, and the urgent issues facing us today. I feel that they maintain great character and integrity. It is important to recognize and support such organizations. Thank you, Amanda Amanda Kuchta

RAN is the most wonderful activist organization I have ever volunteered with! They are extremely effective, and they use unconventional/creative approaches to raising awareness on important issues. This innovation and bold creativity is undoubtedly a major attribute driving their effectiveness as an environmental organization. I look forward to working with RAN in the future, and I really hope I can convince others to get involved with this successful, brilliant organization as well!!

RAN is at the cutting edge of environmental activism. Working with their staff organizers has been an awesome experience, and I encourage people to start their own RAN Chapter in their town/city/or university. RAN is amazingly supportive of grassroots efforts while really supporting the group's autonomy.
