The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls (Rainbow) is a non-profit, community service organization for girls ages 11-20, and does not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, orientation, disability, or religion. Rainbow gets girls ready for life. The leadership, organization and communication skills that girls learn in Rainbow are unparalleled, and not found in any other organization serving young women today.
Rainbow instills a deep sense of service in its members, and teaches girls the importance of service above self. Girls plan and attend hands-on service events in the community and raise funds for charities they are passionate about. In the past five years alone, chapters across Washington and Idaho have raised tens of thousands of dollars for charity.
Rainbow teaches girls how to lead through hands-on experience. The girls of each chapter plan events, establish budgets, and run their own business meetings. Girls are elected by their peers to lead the organization at the state level, giving girls the unique opportunity to run a non-profit organization.
Rainbow teaches girls to communicate through writing, speaking, and conflict resolution. Each girl learns how to speak effectively during meetings and deliver dynamic speeches and presentations to their peers and the public. Rainbow alumnae agree that the communications skills they learned in the organization help them immensely in their careers.
The Rainbow Foundation funds the critical programs that serve Rainbow Girls in Washington and Idaho. For over a decade, the Rainbow Foundation has been dedicated to supporting leadership, membership and training programs for the organization. This support has ensured that each member of the organization can experience the full Rainbow experience, regardless of financial situation. Over the next five years, Rainbow membership is expected to grow, giving more girls the opportunity to serve their communities, learn valuable speaking skills, and discover their leadership potential. Because of this projected growth, the Rainbow Foundation is seeking financial support to continue serving the organization.
Rainbow’s impactful blend of service, leadership and communication set it apart from any other organization serving young women today. Rainbow gets girls ready for life, and the Rainbow Foundation helps fund this mission. With your support, the Rainbow Foundation can continue to serve the women leaders of tomorrow.
