Rainbow Center has been the sole leader in a small town in uniting the community to provide services and support for the gay, lesbian and allied community. Thank you RC for being the oldest center surviving the ups and down of the past decades. Today services are provided for youths, seniors and homeless, mostly funded from within its own community.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Pride Foundation.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The people involved really care and work endlessly to reach out to bring the community together.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

the type that listen well, reach out and bring people together. They put their egos aside to hear constructive ideas and generally are nice folks.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Build a 'green building' for a regional community center that provides programing to the Pierce County and South Sound GLBT. It provides safe housing for youth, seniors and transexuals. Retail on main level would help support operating expenses.

A great organization that is providing a safe place for GLBT youth. The center serves as a referral base for services and gathering in the GLBT community This organization has grown in services and as a community center. Join me in becoming a monthly donor and supporting the work of this important resource

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the young people who hang out at the center and in the many who have been referred to community resources.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The cando attitude of the staff.

I have been involved with the Rainbow Center for four years. The staff and volunteers are committed to the mission and it really shows. As a board member, I have been proaud to be a part of a great organization!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the growth of my community, and the pride in the people that are served.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

be very busy.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the great people!

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

committed and compassionate.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

change the world.

Ways to make it better...

i had more time to commit to the organization.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

the same as others, a poor economy

One thing I'd also say is that...

I have served as an intern here at the Rainbow Center since the last part of March; in that time, I have learned a great deal about serving needs withing GLBT communities, working as a team player, and a number of other things I would not have learned had I not had this opportunity. It has been challenging and very rewarding and has truly enriched my life, and working with excellent professionals like Aimee and Andre has made it even more complete.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

In the look of relief that often accompanies a patron when they've had a chance to talk out an issue they're having,or when they've stepped onto more secure ground because they've been pointed to a resource that is very much needed.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I would hire Andre and Aimee outright and pay them to continue to do the job they're doing.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The learning, the new things, and getting to know some new people.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

All very friendly and helpful

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Serve more people more extravagantly.

Ways to make it better...

If I'd only had a little more confidence in my learning ability and not been so self depreciating.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

There doesnt' seem to be as much community support as there should be.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I hope the Rainbow Center is areound for a long, long time.

Awesome staff. Wonderful source of referrals for community and professional services. I have used the library, gone to movie and karaoke nights and have been able to connect with my community.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

person and in the print and electronic newsletters.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

give everyone a raise and hire some of the volunteers.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the people who hang out there. I feel like I'm with family.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

are very nice and always willing to help.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

have it's own facility and could have multiple things going on all at once.

Ways to make it better...

they were open later in the evening. They do have meetings at night but i didn't want to just walk in.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

the economy. If they had more money, they'd do more great things for more sectors of our community.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I love having some place to go that isn't just a place to hook up.
