I was diagnosed with PCa back in May 2010. Having been under pressure and wanting to learn from others who have gone through this experience I resorted to Prostate Cancer International. I have provided my PSA tests results, Gleason score, CT scans, etc.. and sought advice on how to proceed with treatment. Prostate Cancer International was great as many of its members responded with advice on how to proceed, what to watch for and what to say and ask the medical specialists who were sought by me for consultation. All this helped make my journey quite a learned and comfortable one, given the circumstances. After more than a year with PCa and initial radiation treatment, I continue to link up with Prostate Cancer International and its wonderful and helpful volunteers.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

understanding the various results of tests related to PCa taking a decision on what treatment to follow continuing follow up on post treatment developments exploring broader issues related to PCa, research and newer approved medical interventions

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

examine the possibility of making it multilingual so as individuals worldwide can link up and seek advice in their own languages.

Prostatecancerinfolink.net is at the top of my favourites page.

It is the best site that I have found for constantly updating itself with relevant well explained articles on developments in the prostate cancer field.

The collation of information by this site is excellent. It
saves me trawling through the half dozen other sources I used to look at and piecing together my own news feed.

I always find the latest developments in the PCa field at this site.

Highly recommended!

JK (in the UK).

I found great help encouragement and support when i found I had prostate cancer. I was given accurate information that was not available from my physician and an unbiased list of treatment options. Later I was given free medical information that eventually enabled me to decide on the treatment I had with good results.
This site save me a lot of stress and fear at a difficult time.
The contributors are very generous sharing their medical knowledge and experience free of charge for the benefit of those having a difficult time.

The best source of current research and information on Pca and BPH. With the recent membership costs of UroToday, just to read abstracts, PCI is now the only major source of up to date information.

PCI provided me useful and accurate information concerning the controversy around the use of 5ARIs.

I've been accessing this site for the two years since I had PC surgery. Not only provides a wealth of information on diagnosis, treatment options and the latest research, but also has opportunities to post question, share experiences and otherwise benefit from contact with a wide community of cancer survivors and those just approaching their treatment and the years after that. Research is reviewed and made very accessible for all, and the various kinds of networking available at the site make it by far the best one out there for Prostate Cancer!

The Great!

I was diagnosed with Prostate cancer June 2010 and in doing internet research I cam across their forum. Within a few hours reading and posting my concerns and questions, I had the answers to approach my disease with confidence and the right questions to ask my Dr.
The people in the forum
and Dr Scott were there to guide comfort and help me through the whole journey. the people there had been through it and willingly shared their knowledge. I tried other forums but always came back to this one for answers.

When I was diagnosed with prostate cancer three years ago, at 44, I went everywhere looking for information. The information here was tremendously helpful and the community was supportive. The combination of factual information and the social network is unique in my experience and the two function together well.

I am a prostate cancer survivor. I had my prostate removed on June 10, 2010. The prostate cancer survivors network has helped me a great deal, both in helping select treatment options and in the slow recovery process following the surgery. I would hope the PCSN will continue to grow and help as many prostate cancer victims as possible.
