I am a professional writer and when I signed to pen a book about missing persons, I sought out Kelly and her organization, Project Jason, because I had already heard -- through the educational and law enforcement community -- that these were people whose word you could take to the bank. I found far more than a good resource for my book. Project Jason serves a community that is not only underserved, but is virtually ignored once the initial press dies down. When a family member goes missing, the family is incredibly vulnerable, hurt and rudderless. Project Jason offers something no one else can: Understanding and guidance born of the most difficult experience you can imagine. Project Jason is so worthwhile. It grew out of tragedy and has now become an oak tree against which so many weary and lost people lean. Kelly, the founder, and her advice helped make my book better and more accurate and she helps focus the spotlight on missing persons year-round. I can't imagine a more worthwhile or genuine nonprofit. Project Jason is unique and a completely unselfish effort. Without it, many people would have had no place to go for advice or help. I hope you'll recognize its value as many others have.

When I wrote my book The Last Place You'd Look: True Stories of Missing Persons and the People Who Search for Them (Roman & Littlefield 2011) I turned to Kelly to help guide me through the world of families and nonprofits. As a former police detective I knew the professional end of things, but Kelly knew it from a more personal point of view. She helped me see the missing and their families through the eyes of the people who have been there and done that. And Project Jason is such a blessing to those families. It's there when no one else is and expects absolutely nothing in return for its help. Project Jason is one of the finest examples of community service out there and it serves a community no one else does. Highly recommended.

I could spend allllllll day talking about how much I love Kelly and her group of volunteers. This woman is smart, loving, devoted and all while working full time and searching for her own missing son. The services offered are amazing. When you first start out in the world of missing persons, its really hard. But you are focused on the physicalities. Not the emotional impact. Project Jason not only works to increase awareness to prevent missing persons, but they take care of your heart while it's all going down. Absolutely invaluable organization and like I said, I could go on all day. Amazing!

Kelly Jolkowski has committed her life to help the families of the missing. She has first hand experience of this herself with her missing son Jason. Instead of folding under the grief she has become a leader in assistance and advocacy for the families of missing persons. Project Jason offers compassion and resources for those families. Every year they held a retreat for those families also.

Project Jason has opened my eyes to missing persons. It has showed me that people will never forget those who disappear no matter how long they are gone. It has taught me that we all need to care about each other. It also has shown me that these people are neglected in our society and that more needs to be done to bring them home. Thank you Jason's Project.

It would be difficult to say how much project jason has meant to us. The personal friendships, the awareness events. Counseling and support through the project jason retreat. When our Jesse disappeared the first real ray of hope for us came when we stumbled upon Project Jason on the internet. We were connected to other famillies with missing, given assistance in our quest to locate Jesse, and introduced to so many resources that every family with a missing needs. We had no idea just what we should be doing until Project Jason came to our rescue.

When our son Jesse went missing, we had to reach out from Belton MO to Chicago IL. The police were business like, but not really a lot of help for our family at this critical time. We discovered Kelly and Project Jason on the web. She told us all the things the police didn't, what agencies were out there, the things that we could be doing on our own. She offered personal advise and thru her own personal experience she helped us understand ourselves and what was happening to us. Project Jason helped us get Jesse's story out to the nation. She also helped us deal with those who would take unfair advantage of people like us(so called psychics, etc.) Probably one of the most dear things she did for us was to be a friend.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
dealing with a terrible situation, having a missing child. There is nothing like having someone who understands what you are going through and helps you do the things you need to do.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
Being part of a family,a support network when you don't know where else to turn
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Professional, yet personal and understanding.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Help thousands of families desperate to get word to the world about their missing loved ones. Host retreats such as we attended to bring victims together and unite them in love and courage.

When I thought I was out there experiencing having a loved one missing on my own, experiencing having an adult loved one missing and all that entails, battling, being let down, not understanding, trying to figure it all out as if it was me against the world at that point Project Jason entered my life. Project Jason entered my life with support and sound resources and advice and friendship. Now as I advocate for other families of the missing I refer all families to Project Jason. There is no better organization out there.

Project Jason assisted me when my husband was missing for 4 years and they have supported me even after I received my answer. For an adult that is missing their families have few places to turn to for professional support so I felt very blessed to find Project Jason. I have attended all of their Keys to Healing Retreat that they put on every summer. It is an amazing experience filled with sound advice and tools to help the families cope. I now advocate for the families of the missing and I always steer them to Project Jason...it is one of very few missing person organizations that I recommend to any of the families. ~ Maureen Reintjes, NamUs Advocate - Kansas

I am a person that has dealt with the loss of my Brother to suicide. We were very close and it has been a nightmare. After awhile I became very lost, feeling like there was no one that really understood the horrible loss and the awful feelings that go along with a loss due to suicide. Then I found a support group for siblings that lost siblings to suicide and it really is helping. Project Jason is doing that for families of Missing Children. I cannot even begin to imagine what it's like to not know what happened to your family member or friend. Project Jason connected people that would otherwise have no one that really "got it" with others that do. Kelly and her group are INCREDIBLE.

My father went missing in 2009. ProjectJason has offered their services to me on several different levels. These services have helped me make it from day to day. Not only do they help bring my dads case awareness, but they have also helped me personally. They are always there to listen and support you through this tough process. If there's an area they are not able to provide help in they always have the right resources to get you what you need. All of this is done free of charge. Kelly is truly my hero at this stage in my life. What she has done for me and others in my position is truly remarkable!

What, if any, change in your life has this group encouraged?
It has affected my faith, outlook, attitude and so much more. Because of this group I can see the good in life and know its worth the effort to carry on.
Project Jason has helped my family cope with my sister Laurie Partridge abduction by promoting her story and helping us keep her story alive in the hope that we will get answers someday! We are so very Grateful for their efforts and support! Project Jason helps many families daily who are dealing with abducted, missing and murdered family members and there are not enough words to express the important contributions this organization gives especially at a time when people are in shock and have difficulty knowing how to go about daily life when such a tragedy happens! Thank you Project Jason
