As a Board Member for PAWS, I see firsthand the organization's commitment to the community. The staff and volunteers are passionate about what they do, and their dedication translates into an amazing amount of energy and accomplishment. Money can be tight (are there any small nonprofits with excess funds?) but there's not a penny wasted or a stone unturned in PAWS' effort to serve the people and pets of this community. Keep up the wonderful work, PAWS! You're touching more lives than you could possibly know.

PAWS is a wonderful organization. The employees and the adoption center volunteers are all helpful, conscientious and devoted. We've found our role as a foster family to be extremely fulfilling for us and we feel appreciated by the organization.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Our family has taken in many litters of kittens to foster--including many feral kittens. We've seen many of these become charming, socialized creatures after spending a few weeks with my 5- and 8-year old children. It's win-win for everyone: we get to play with kittens and the kittens get to play with us! We LOVE this program.

(I don't have any suggestions here)

PAWS of Bainbridge Island and North Kitsap finds homes for approximately 350 cats annually. They carefully prepare cats and kittens for adoption through good medical and nutritional care, and socialization techniques. They pay attention to each cat's individual personality and suitability for different home situations; for example, some do well with other cats or dogs, while others need to be the only animal in the home. Some are best suited to an adults-only environment, while others are great with children. Fostering and respite care are provided when needed.

The Great!

Watching animals interact with people looking for a pet. Sometimes a cat has to come back to PAWS and the adopting family chooses another one. Some cats are companions for elders and PAWS supports that relationship by providing assistance for food or medical care for the cat.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Try to help them find more space.
