Mission:
Established in 1957, the Tallahassee Museum encourage people to reach their full potential and contribute to a better sense of community, purpose and place by inspiring them to care for their natural world and value the role of history in their lives. Educational exhibits, programs, and publications highlight the relationships between the region''s history, culture and natural environment and encourage people to make become wise stewards of their natural and historical resources. Additionally, the Museum serves as a public trust for the collection, preservation, and conservation of the region''s historic artifacts and buildings (primarily from the 1800s forward), natural science specimens, and native wildlife that are at risk in a region and state facing rapid development and growth.

My very first membership was to the Tallahassee Museum - I was 5 years old. I remember getting my membership card and being so proud that I was a member. Now that I am older I am still very proud of that membership and have maintained my membership over all these years to help support the museum - ...

The Tallahassee Museum is a wonderful place for young and old alike. I visited the Museum as a child and continued as an adult. My son attended camps from age 3-14 has volunteered last year during summer camp. He has a broad knowledge of natural science and I attribute that 100% to the Museum. ...
