SPCA for Monterey County
Mission:
The SPCA for Monterey County is a nonprofit, independent, donor-supported humane society that has been serving the animals and people of Monterey County since 1905. They shelter homeless, neglected and abused pets and livestock, and provide humane education and countless other services to the community. They are the local agency you call to investigate animal cruelty, rescue and rehabilitate injured wildlife, and aid domestic animals in distress.

I started volunteering at the SPCA of Monterey County last December with the horses. I honestly can't say enough about the excellent care given to all of the animals there. My personal experience was helping care for the horses, I believe there were 33+ at the time in various stages of starvation ...
